Red Wing Heritage’s New Mocs Play to the Brand’s Greatest Strength

A love letter to leather

At launch, the treatment looks to be exclusive to the low-top version of the boot called the Shop Moc Oxford. That said, it does represent a especially novel treatment in the sense that the standard Shop Moc Oxford comes in fewer leathers than the six-inch boot, making it the sole chance at acquiring the style in various leather types.

Red Wing moc shoes
The collection revisits a Triple Black colorway first issued in 2024.
Engineered Garments

In a sense, the collection builds off the Triple Black colorway, first released in 2024 and now back for a second run as a compelling dress-shoe alternative.

This time around, though, it’s joined by Camel Remix — a colorway that uses Olive mohave and Hawthorne Abilene for a tonal take on suede with variations in texture — as well as Copper Remix.

Red Wing moc shoes
Olive mohave and Hawthorne Abilene come together for a tonal suede with variations in texture.
Engineered Garments

The latter is arguably the most intriguing of the collection, as it utilizes three of Red Wing’s most popular browns: Oro Legacy, Briar Oil-Slick and Copper Rough and Tough, which will each present differently after sustained use.

Another week down, and, per usual, a bunch of new tech and gadgets have been announced.

This past week, JBL announced next-gen versions of its popular portable Bluetooth speakers, TCL revealed an affordable alternative to an OLED TV, and Fluance debuted its powered speaker systems. But that’s just scratching the surface.

Below, we’ve rounded up all the most interesting new releases and announcements you might have missed from the past week.

JBL Flip 7 portable speakerJBL

JBL Flip 7

The JBL Flip 7 is a new-and-improved version of its 2021-released predecessor, the Flip 6. The portable Bluetooth speaker features a similar design but several under-the-hood upgrades. It has an IP68 rating and promises up to 14 hours on a single charge, a slight upgrade over the Flip 6’s IP67 rating and 12-hour battery life. It also has an upgraded tweeter and supports JBL’s AI Sound Boost, a technology that JBL has featured in its higher-end speakers that leverages AI to maximize sound quality while limiting distortion.

Fluance Ri71 Powered Bookshelf Speakers

Moft Dynamic FolioMoft

Moft Dynamic Folio

The Moft Dynamic Folio is folio case for iPad with a unique design inspired by origami, allowing it to work in way more configurations than, say, Apple’s own Smart Folio. It supports two “floating” modes, holding the iPad two- three-inches above your desk. If you don’t have a desk or table surface nearby, it can fold around your arm or knee and provide support as if there was a surface. Moft sells it in three different sizes to support any mini, 11-inch or 13-inch iPad.

TCL QM7K 2025 TVTCL

TCL QM7K QD-Mini LED QLED TV

The TCL QM7K is the brand’s midrange line of 4K Mini-LED TVs for 2025. They’re essentially an upgraded (and more expensive) version of the brand’s entry-level QM6K, but feature a display with superior brightness and dimming zones. Plus, each model has a built-in 2.2-channel sound system tuned by Bang & Olufsen. Available in 55-, 65-, 75-, 85-in, 98-in and 115-inch sizes.

Light Phone IIILight Phone

Light Phone III

The Light Phone III is Light’s third-generation minimalist smartphone, but it’s significantly more capable (and more expensive). Like its predecessor, the smartphone supports calls, texts, navigation, music and can even become a hotspot. But the differences are substantial. Instead of an e-paper screen, it has a significantly nicer 3.92-inch AMOLED display. It also now has a camera and a NFC chip for wireless payments. It costs $599 now, but it will go up to $799 after its official launch (in June 2025).

Anker Soundcore AeroClip wireless earbudsAnker

Anker Soundcore AeroClip

The Anker Soundcore AeroClip are the brand’s most premium open-ear wireless earbuds with a clip-on design. They fit similarly to the Bose Open Ultra Earbuds but cost less than half the price. Each earbud packs a 12mm driver and have a flexible TPU connector that promises a secure and comfortable fit. Like other open-ear wireless earbuds, the AeroClip allow you to better hear the world around you while running, biking or working out.

JBL Charge 6 portable speakerJBL

JBL Charge 6

The JBL Charge 6 is a next-gen version of the company’s Charge 5, which was released in 2021. The Charge 6 looks similar but has a detachable handle strap, making it easier to carry. Acoustically, it has an upgraded woofer and supports AI Sound Boost technology, thus promising to deliver better sound with deeper bass.

Fluance Ri91 floorstanding speakersFluance

Fluance Ri91 Powered Floorstanding Speakers

The Fluance Ri91 is the company’s most advanced pair of powered floorstanding speakers. They have a 3-way design, featuring an advanced AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter and dual 6.5-inch woven glass fiber woofers, and can output 150-watts of power. They have RCA and HDMI Arc inputs, allowing you to directly connect them to a turntable (with a built-in phono preamp) or a TV. They support Bluetooth aptX HD, too, for easy streaming.

Anker Nano Travel ChargerAnker

Anker Nano Travel Adapter

The Anker Nano Travel Adapter is a 20-watt charger and power adapter with international prongs for traveling in the US, Europe, the UK, and Australia. Notably, the prongs are either foldable or retractable and integrated into the adapter, so they can’t get lost. It also has two USB-C and two USB-A ports, plus a traditional US-style outlet (located at its front), allowing it to charge up to five devices simultaneously.

Arendal Audio 1961 loudspeaker series (2025)Arendal Audio

Arendal Sound 1961 Series (2025)

The Norwegian audio brand has brought back — and upgraded — its entry-level 1961 series of loudspeakers. Like before, the series consists of all the models you’d need to create a traditional hi-fi or home theater system, including bookshelf, floorstanding, center channel, height and rear-channel speakers, plus two subwoofers. Each model borrows driver technologies from the brand’s higher-end 1723 Series and features an MDF cabinet. The bookshelf speakers start at $850/pair.

14 New Pocket Knives and Multi-Tools You Might Have Missed

Benchmade was probably the big winner for knife releases this week, but there were also significant drops from CRKT, Vosteed, Case and more.

This week was big for some American everyday carry and knifemaking brands. Benchmade and CRKT saw significant releases. Furthermore, Case, Gerber and Craighill had under-the-radar drops.

Of course, there were also some significant overseas EDC launches from brands such as Vosteed, We Knife, Kansept and more. All in all, it’s been a pretty solid seven days for blade fanatics.

If you missed any of them this week, we’ve got good news: you can still check them out below.

Böker Purple Sabre Kalashnikov

There have been a lot of iterations of Böker’s workhorse Kalashnikov auto knife over the years. However, you can only get this one at Blade HQ. Done up in an exclusive colorway that harkens to Samuel L. Jackson’s purple lightsaber-wielding on-screen alter-ego, the knife comes with a sturdy D2 blade, aluminum handle and a simple yet reliable button lock. It’s certainly one of the more striking editions of this iconic automatic EDC knife.

Vosteed Gavko Leopard knife on gray backgroundVosteed

Vosteed Gavko Leopard

Vosteed’s Mike Gavic-designed Leopard is one of the brand’s most unique designs to date. The shape and the exclusive milling pattern were directly inspired by one of the ocean’s most ancient predators, the shark. However, even without the interesting design cues, this is still an impressive knife. It hinges on a thick Böhler M390 steel blade with an oversized thumb hole deployment and a titanium handle with a button-operated top liner lock.

crkt minimalx embedCRKT

CRKT MinimalX Frame Lock

A monument to minimalism, the aptly named, Darriel Caston-designed MinimalX is all killer, no filler. Made of 12C27 steel, the aggressively modified tanto-shaped 2.19-inch blade boasts a titanium nitride coating to max out corrosion resistance. It deploys via a subtle but grippy flipper, secured by a sturdy frame lock built into the stainless steel handle. If you love Caston’s Mbombo but want something a little more compact, this is your knife.

orioners t6 multi-tool embedOrioners

Orioners T6

Made primarily of CNC-machined Grade 5 titanium, this roughly 2″ x 1″ trapezoidal multi-tool boasts some pretty handy elements. These include Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, two hex wrenches, a bottle opener and a carabiner-like keyring. However, the headline is really its 1.18-inch cutting tool, one of the smallest Damascus steel blades we’ve ever seen.

benchmade mini freek shot show special embedBenchmade

Benchmade SHOT Show 2025 Limited Edition 565PL-2501 Mini Freek

Every year, Benchmade drops a “SHOT Show Special,” a limited-edition knife only available at the convention itself. For 2025, it’s this sweet Mini Freek, featuring a 3.01-inch CPM-M4 blade with a Cerakote Amethyst finish and the brand’s first use of Ultem, a super-durable polymer appearing here in the transparent Amber handle scales.

benchmade bugout 535-09 embedBenchmade

Benchmade Bugout (535-09)

This many-splendored Bugout boasts a handle made of Ash Gray aluminum with a Redstone Richlite onlay, gray anodized 6061-T6 aluminum bolster and orange anodized thumb stud and backspacer. It’s just as pocketable as its Bugout brethren — and supremely functional thanks to its 3.24-inch CPM-S90V stainless steel blade.

Craighill G10 Lark Knife on gray backgroundCraighill

Craighill G10 Lark Knife

A new version of Craighill’s all-metal Lark, this new version swaps the scales for lighter G10 ones in your choice of black or blue. It still has a quick flipper and thumb stud deployments, a stout 1.5-inch 8Cr13MoV drop-point blade and a liner lock. It’s also still extremely compact at 4.1 inches total, making it perfect for keychain carry.

gerber bushcraft saw embedGerber

Gerber Bushcraft Saw

For serious backcountry tasks, it never hurts to pack a saw. Gerber makes it easy with this foldable option, which deploys an 8-inch chrome-plated SK5 carbon steel blade featuring Sawtooth Tech: triple-ground saw teeth in an offset configuration to give you a smooth reliable cut with every pull. The rubber grip and aluminum lock button are comfortable and safe, with the blade locking in two different positions to ease awkward and tricky cuts. A belt- and MOLLE-compatible sheath with a ferro rod loop round out the winning package.

We Knife Sylox knife on gray backgroundWe Knife

We Knife Sylox

One of the most upscale and feature-packed knives the brand has released recently, the Sylox is a masterful combination of opulent materials and convenient mechanisms. These include things like a titanium handle frame, gorgeous inlays (in either carbon fiber or Mother of Pearl), flipper blades with full-length fullers (in either Böhler M390 or Damascus steel) button locks and more. Even at their high prices, these knives seem poised to become surefire fan favorites.

kansept eaglestrike embedKansept Knives

Kansept Eaglestrike

Like the white-bellied sea eagle that inspired its name, the Eaglestrike is not to be trifled with. Clearly sending that message are a 3.73-inch hollow-ground blade made of CPM S35VN or Damascus steel, an ergonomically milled titanium handle, dual thumb studs for quick deployment and a super-solid crossbar lock.

Case Baby Doc on gray backgroundCase

Case Baby Doc

This unique, historical knife is a limited release pulled from the brand’s vault for 2025. It harkens back to a time when doctors would utilize folding knives as an essential house call tool. While it sports classic materials — like Tru-Sharp steel and handles made from wood, bone and more — it also has a unique two-blade design. One of those blades is a classic straight-back cutting tool — perhaps used to cut sutures and bandages — whereas the other is a multipurpose device that could be used to crush pills, mix tonics and more.

Spyderco SpyNano Flash Batch knife on gray backgroundSpyderco

Spyderco SpyNano Flash Batch

Another collaboration with LionSteel — a highly underrated Italian knifemaking firm — this Spyderco bulldog knife is a masterclass in robust, compact everyday carry. It has a combination Micarta and titanium handle, complete with a Reeve Integral Lock, and a short 2.57-inch blade crafted from Böhler M398 steel. It’s a limited run, so get it while you can.

artisan cutlery cleo 1871G-COArtisan Cutlery

Artisan Cutlery Cleo 1871G-CO (Copper Handle)

Last fall Artisan Cutlery teamed up with South African designer Johan Jordaan on a stunning EDC knife boasting a 2.54-inch modified wharncliffe blade made of beautifully balanced SV90 super steel, a textured titanium handle and a very on-trend button lock. Now the Cleo is back with two compelling differences: a handle made of eye-popping copper and a nicer price — $10 less than the original.

Vero Engineering Shift in handVero Engineering

Vero Engineering Shift

The brand’s first-ever USA-made knife, the 1.9-ounce Vero Engineering Shift is a tiny, mighty fixed blade suitable for EDC courtesy of its stout, slim silhouette. It measures 6.9 inches in total and has a hard-working 2.6-inch Nitro-V Steel blade (with the brand’s signature rectangular nail nick, despite being a fixed blade). It also has a full titanium handle with matching hardware and a carbon fiber inlay. But here’s where it gets fascinating: the blade is removable and replaceable, and the brand plans to sell replacements of varying shapes separately.

Topo Designs Gives Its Fan-Favorite EDC Pack a Swath of Trail-Ready Upgrades

Topo Designs is an interesting brand that toes the line between outdoor equipment and everyday carry gear. However you spin it, the brand’s soul is tied directly to the outdoors. Even its most streetwear-worthy offerings are inspired by hiking and camping.

However, its latest release is a real full-circle moment for the brand. The Topo Designs Rover Trail Pack reinterprets one of its most popular offerings for outdoor use.

Loop hike

As its name suggests, this new bag is a reinterpretation of the Topo Designs Rover Pack, one of the brand’s most popular and best-selling products.

Interestingly, that original pack was inspired by outdoor bags, specifically rucksacks. As such, it features a flip-top closure, compression straps, paracord pull tabs on the zippers and more.

That means that this new version is an outdoor pack inspired by an everyday carry bag inspired by the outdoors. It’s a bit of a full-circle moment, but it works extremely well.

Spyderco’s Bulldog EDC Knife Is a Sneaky Collab with an Underrated Brand

Those who loved the original Nano’s flipper deployment needn’t fret; it remains. Even better, it’s still removable for those who prefer more minimalism and traditional deployments.

The knife still includes a titanium handle scale with a Reeve Integral Lock (an integrated frame lock). However, the presentation-side handle scale has been swapped for Micarta.

The changes, obvious or subtle, help the SpyNano Flash Batch stand out from its inspiration. They also keep the knife fresh for existing fans and newcomers alike.

The knife has two available deployments: Spyderco’s signature Round Hole and LionSteel’s removable flipper.

Bulldog’s got bite

One of the biggest differences between this knife and the original Nano is the blade steel. Whereas the original has a MagnaCut blade, this one sees it swapped for Böhler steel.

However, it’s not Böhler M390. Instead, it’s that popular steel’s more robust evolution, M398. It shares many of its strengths with its sibling but offers better edge retention and corrosion resistance.

A Cult-Favorite EDC Backpack Gets Its Most Technically Advanced Edition Yet

Because this fabric is a synthetic laminate, it’s also entirely waterproof. That means anything you pack inside this bag will stay dry even in a deluge. You can even submerge it entirely (up to 200 psi) without a breach.

It’s tear-, abrasion- and puncture-resistant, waterproof to the nth degree, and also resistant to chemicals and UV damage. I’d stop short of calling it indestructible, but not that short.

Same exceptional DNA

While the exterior has seen some major changes and upgrades, the rest of the bag remains largely unchanged. That’s a boon to anyone who already knows and loves this bag.

For the uninitiated, that includes crucial, long-time features like MOLLE webbing on the front and sides, a compression system, adjustable padded straps with a stabilizing chest strap, a breathable padded back panel and more.

On Quietly Updated Its Best Casual Sneaker in the Best Possible Way

On’s relationship with Roger Federer has been fruitful for all parties involved, but especially for Federer.

The partnership between the Swiss tennis legend and the surging Swiss footwear company feels obvious now, but it only started in 2019, almost ten years after On’s inception.

At the time, Federer took a personal bet and signed with the brand as an official ambassador, contributor, designer, and investor in exchange for a 3% equity stake in the business. Today, the stake is worth about $350 million, or nearly triple what Federer earned as a pro tennis player.

The deal also resulted in an excellent footwear line, a.k.a. THE ROGER, which naturally included technical court shoes.

Surprisingly, though, the line’s off-court-focused Clubhouse shoe has arguably been the strongest silhouette in the series, and now On has quietly refreshed it in key ways.

The Clubhouse Is Now Even More Understated

A pair of On THE ROGER Clubhouse revised sneakers in white and ivory shown empty sitting side by side against a gradient green background that looks like a tennis court.
The revised version of THE ROGER Clubhouse is designed to feel even more casual and versatile.
On

On says THE ROGER Clubhouse has been “reimagined” and “redesigned” to “elevate every outfit.”

Appearance-wise, this translates to a simplified heel collar that swaps out the busy technical mesh of the first iteration for smooth synthetic leather. The laces are now round instead of flat too.

Case’s Highly-Retro USA-Made EDC Knife Is Rooted in Medical History

Founded in 1889, Case is one of the longest-operating knifemaking brands in the USA. As such, the outfit is steeped in rich history, as are its many offerings.

One such offering has just been released from the brand’s vault for 2025. Called the Case Baby Doc, this design has direct ties to the history of medicine and is a useful EDC tool.

Baby Doc

Medical marvel

The Case Baby Doc is a fairly straightforward gentleman’s knife with a straight handle and simple blade. However, its secondary edgeless spatula blade helps set it apart from its brethren.

The pair of blades come together to create a tool that harkens to a time when medical professionals used to make house calls. In fact, it’s based on an original (now-defunct) Doctor’s Knife that was made explicitly as EDC for MDs.

A doctor might use the sharp-edge blade to cut sutures or bandages, whereas the edgeless, rectangular spatula blade could crush pills or mix medicines in liquid. It could even feasibly be used as a tongue depressor in a pinch (given that it was properly sterilized).

This Rule-Breaking Affordable Watch Comes from a Legendary Swiss Designer

Back in 2021, MF&B did something pretty incredible with the release of its M.A.D.1 watch. This horological experiment brought details and craftsmanship typically found in six-figure timepieces to the masses.

As such, the shockingly affordable watch was an unqualified hit in the watch world. Watch fanatics came clamoring again when it got a revamp in 2024 called the M.A.D.1S.

The brand is back with the first true sequel in the series, the MB&F M.A.D.2. Like its predecessors, it’s a magnificent achievement in making high-end horology affordable. But this one is even better for numerous reasons.

MB&F

Design departure

The M.A.D.2 is a huge departure from its predecessors design-wise. One possible reason is that MB&F hired an outside designer to create this hotly anticipated sequel.

Whereas the original was the brainchild of Maximilian Büsser, the brand’s founder, this one is the product of legendary Swiss designer Eric Giroud. For reference, Giroud has worked with Vacheron Constantin, Tissot, Mido and even Swarovski (yes, the crystal brand), among many others.

Templa’s Puffer Jacket Fully Biodegrades In Five Years

Luxury performance brand Templa and ALLIED Feather + Down (AF+D) teamed up to design a puffer jacket that completely disappears in five years under anaerobic environments. It incorporates 800 fill power down insulation with biodegradable synthetic fibers for a more eco-conscious approach.

The design aims to help reduce the carbon footprint associated with traditional production methods by using 99% biodegradable materials. The fabrics underwent validation tests conducted by Amni Soul Eco by Solvay and CiCLO. The trimmings are from premium performance wear manufacturer Active Apparel Group (AAG).

Meanwhile, the fashion-forward performance silhouette is from Templa. This puffer jacket vanishes entirely from the earth when buried underground where there is no oxygen. A winner of the 2024 ISPO Award, the design kicks off ALLIED’s new Future Now: program with AAG and Templa, beginning with the Designing to Disappear project.

It’s part of an initiative to produce performance recyclable outerwear using biomaterials. ALLIED creative director Matthew Betcher says down is the ideal insulation to combine with biodegradable fabrics and trims. It is “supremely suited for use in any sustainability-minded apparel program” because it is “a renewable, biodegradable by-product of the food supply chain.” Likewise, down isn’t just biodegradable, but also recyclable and boasts an exceedingly low carbon footprint as a raw material.

Templa’s puffer jacket is due for release in September 2025 as part of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 – Edition 12 Collection. It represents the brand’s identity as a luxury outdoor performance brand that perceptively navigates the alpine and urban fashion worlds. It has waterproof capabilities and works on the mountains. But its biodegradable components turn it from a stylish puffy jacket to a sustainable garment that leaves the earth without a trace.

Hamilton’s Overhauled Industrial Tonneau Watch Is the Brainchild of an Unexpected Designer

The result is a profoundly industrial, almost brutalist design that’s entirely unlike any other Boulton ever made.

Instead of a delicate mirrored case and fine leather strap, this one has an angular PVD-coated titanium case with a matching link band. But it’s not just a material and color swap, either.

The case has also been restructured with a cage-like dome and a septet of antireflective sapphire crystal windows. Under it, the dial has also been blacked out with gunmetal indices and hands, save for its orange 12 o’clock marker and second hand.

Deliveries done

While the watch design is quite bold, Hamilton and Shinkawa were wise enough to keep the connection to the game more subtle.

The only visible reference to the game is on the exhibition caseback. Above the watch’s caliber H-10 automatic movement, the game’s logo is printed in its signature font.
