Yeti’s Newest Product Is Cheap, Versatile and Long Overdue

Yeti has never been a culinary company, strictly speaking. Then again, its bulletproof coolers can do more much more than keep a case of beer cold.

Pitmasters the world over use them as resting chambers for smoked meat, while fisherman depend on them to safely transport fish from sea to land.

More recently, the brand has doubled down on its culinary chops, releasing its own cast-iron-cookware collection and even insulated bowls for hosting and entertaining.

A new lineup of leakproof food jars expands upon this premise even further. And, according to Hannah Mara, the head of food and drink at the brand, its been a long time coming.

Rambler bottles can keep food hot or cold, but the new Insulated Food Jars are specifically optimized for the task.
Yeti

“Our fans have been asking for an insulated, fully leakproof food storage solution they could take on the go for years,” Mara says.

To date, Yeti Nation has had to rely on the brand’s extensive lineup of Rambler bottles and cups, such as the 10-ounce Lowball that has become a popular alternative to a traditional food jar.

When Japan Gets Its Hands on One of Hip Hop’s Most Iconic Sneakers, Magic Happens

Originally released as a basketball shoe in 1969, the Adidas Superstar would eventually transcend its sporting roots and become a staple of the style industry. This can be credited to its culture shift, helped largely by the hip-hop crowd (especially Run-D.M.C., rap icons who made the sneaker an integral part of their style).

Over the decades, the shoe has remained integral to the streetwear trend, even seeing a chunkier, more cushioned follow-up in the ’90s (which has since supplanted the original). While its popularity has ebbed and flowed, this legendary sneaker is on the rise again.

As proof positive, take a gander at the upcoming Adidas Originals x Beams Superstar II. This fresh take uses subtle style changes to give the iconic sneaker even more allure.

Some subtle updates, courtesy of Japanese streetwear brand Beams, kick the Adidas Superstar II up a notch.
Beams

A fitting legacy

As the sneaker’s name suggests, this isn’t a special edition of the original Superstar; it’s a take on the ’90s follow-up. Overall, it’s a chunkier shoe, which fits with the emerging trends of now (a return to the ’90s and early 2000s).

For the most part, the original silhouette remains intact, as do many of the iconic details, like the rubber “shelltoe” toe cap and the trio of side stripes with their pinked edges.

Nike’s Heavy-Duty Hiking Boot Is a Rugged Battle Cry for Gnarly Trails

The Swoosh probably deserves more credit on the trail, where designs like the ACG Zoom Gaiadome eat dirt for breakfast.

Nike is famous for its record-setting road-running shoes and dozens of street-savvy icons. But the brand probably deserves a bit more respect on dirt.

American distance runner Caleb Olson recently won America’s most prestigious trail race in a pair of unreleased super shoes (not to mention one attention-grabbing running top).

In fact, Nike’s ACG catalog is littered with trail-ready footwear and apparel. That said, no SKU deserves the descriptor more than the ACG Zoom Gaiadome.

Rough and ready

First released in 2022, the heavy-duty hiking boot has remained for well over a year.

However, the all-terrain powerhouse just resurfaced on several of the brand’s official overseas websites, suggesting a stateside redux is imminent.

The ACG Zoom Gaiadom is easily the brand’s most formidable hiker, both in specs and appearance.

Gore-Tex lining envelops the upper in a waterproof barrier, extending up the ankle where ample amounts of padding provide stability and protection against branches and trail debris.

The boot also boasts the brand’s TrailFrame technology — a hard plastic cage that effectively locks your foot in place to deliver a stable ride on uneven terrain.

Metal eyelets and three-pronged lugs only further the design’s rough and rugged makeup, while Air Zoom cushioning keeps its platform soft and responsive.

Availability and pricing

Last seen in a Vintage Green colorway, the ACG Zoom Gaiadome will soon resurface in an earthy orange called “Cinnamon/Mars Stone.”

The variant is already available in Hong Kong, where it costs HK$1,799 — roughly $230.

An Iconic Brand Raised the ‘Surfer’ Watch to a Whole New Level, and It Is Gorgeous

Lets go surfin’ now

OK, if we’re being sincere here, no serious surfer would paddle out in this watch, except maybe Time & Tide Founder and CEO Andrew McUthen. A $100 G-Shock would be far more appropriate, because a watch of this caliber is massive overkill.

a white Zenith watch on a man's wrist
The 41mm case wears large because of the lug-to-lug distance.
Zenith

That said, it is one of the most beautiful summer watches I’ve ever come across. Even as someone who doesn’t care for skeletonized dials, I have to admit the application of color and texture to this one is a work of art.

The white ceramic glows in the sunlight, and a combination of brushed and polished surfaces emphasizes the dodecagonal bezel and angular case. It begs to be worn on a beach or while lounging by a pool.

Zenith

While it is certainly not a dive watch, this luxurious modern sports watch is equipped for aquatic adventures at or near the surface, thanks to 100m water resistance and the ultra-durable ceramic case.

Even Zenith’s simplest production models are works of art, but when the brand gets experimental and inventive, we’re blessed with some truly special watches. The Time & Tide White Surfer is the perfect example.

Could This Dead-Simple Innovation Rewrite the Rules of Running Apparel?

Which may be true, but last time I checked, you can’t copyright “holes.”

And heck, a bit of research reveals that a bevy of (sometimes rather decorative) women’s fitness garments with various forms of laser-cut ventilation, some of which may date back more than a decade.

A hole new approach

Which brings me to Goldwin’s new trail running-inspired capsule, which emerged from a team-up of TechLab, the brand’s research facility, and Nur Abbas, creative director of Goldwin 0, a special branch developing products that are equally pretty and practical.

Aiming for breathability and safety, the five items — a long-sleeve T-shirt, a half-sleeve T-shirt, shorts, half tights and a trail pack starting at a hefty $160 — are united by strategically placed ventilated and reflective panels.

This Affordable Desktop Amp Is a Do-It-All Solution for Audiophiles

The K15 has a dedicated preamp mode, so you can integrate it into a larger desktop hi-fi system. It also supports streaming over Bluetooth (LDAC, AptX HD, AAC) and Wi-Fi (Roon Ready, AirPlay), allowing you to use it with your wireless headphones or speakers.

Flagship DAC and power

At the heart of the K15 is both a high-quality DAC and a powerful headphone amplifier.

On the DAC side, it features two AKM AK4497S DAC chips that are configured in a dual-mono setup. FiiO says these premium chips deliver “pristine digital-to-analog conversion, preserving minute detail from low to high frequencies while maintaining ultra-low distortion and wide dynamic range.”

As a headphone amp, the K15 features Class-AB amplification offering up to 3000mW per channel via balanced output, which the brand says should be able to drive sensitive IEMs or high-impedance over-ear headphones.

This Genius Accessory Changed How I Car Camp Forever

After several weekend camping trips with multiple families, all with young kids in tow, it was obvious my camp kitchen setup was missing a key ingredient: an efficient, mess-free way to handle water.

Cooking for multiple families meant water was constantly in demand—whether for rinsing a coffee mug or scrubbing a cast iron pan—and our old solution (a basic water cube with a gravity-fed spigot) just wasn’t cutting it.

It took up a lot of table space, and manually twisting the spigot on and off when my hands were covered with soapy grey water, or trying to hold a pot for filling was grating on me.

Dometic Go Hydration Water Faucet shown attached next to a camp sink
Dometic’s Go Hydration Water Faucet is basically the only turn-key solution on the market right now for anyone looking to easily add running water to their camping setup. Though it’s not cheap and has a few quirks, the system still works well overall, which is why I no longer want to car camp without it.
Ben Bowers for Gear Patrol

The hunt for a better solution led me deep into the world of portable camp faucets. Turns out, there aren’t many out there. Outside of DIY hacks involving sketchy pumps on Amazon, tubing guesswork, or specialized RV gear, the only real turn-key system was from Dometic.

Despite some sticker shock—the faucet and jug typically retail for just under $170—I took the plunge at REI.

Now, after (nearly) two summers with the system in tow, I can confidently say this: it’s one of the best camp kitchen upgrades I’ve ever made, and I never want to car camp without it.

A Camp Kitchen Game-Changer

A double tap of the integrated touch button area gets water flowing immediately, making everyday outdoor cooking and cleaning much faster and easier. Frustratingly, though, the touch button can also have trouble registering taps when your fingers are wet.

The Dometic Go Hydration Faucet and Jug are designed to work seamlessly, though you can use each piece of gear without the other.

This Simple, Stylish Japanese Field Watch Is Even More Affordable than a Timex

Uniquely, the watch eschews a more traditional crystal (like mineral) for a polycarbonate window. Again, this serves to add some durability — polycarbonate is the same material used in bulletproof glass — while also keeping the costs down.

The dial is minimalist while still being easy to read, relying on simple numerals, a minute scale and strategic lume at the hours and on the hands. Finally, the whole thing is finished off with a NATO-style nylon strap.

For all its money-saving elements, it’s still a damn good-looking timepiece, which likely has something to do with the Maison Club streetwear brand collaborating on it.

This watch is available in four distinct colorways, all of which are military-inspired. They include olive green, khaki, gray and black.

Whichever version you choose, they’re all priced exactly the same: $57. Yes, you read that right. That’s even cheaper than a Timex Weekender (a similar bargain-bin field watch).

This Blockbuster Chronograph Quietly Nails a Divisive Design Choice

Few films in recent memory have launched with as much Hollywood horsepower as F1 The Movie. Backed by Apple Original Films with a reported budget of $250 million, the project unites blockbuster talent across the board. Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski leads the charge, with Jerry Bruckheimer producing and Brad Pitt starring—and co-producing—alongside a supporting cast that includes Javier Bardem.

But beyond the star power and cinematic spectacle, what sets this film apart is the sheer volume of brand partnerships riding shotgun. Chief among them is IWC Schaffhausen, which used the film as a launchpad for a curated lineup of racing-inspired watches tied to the fictional APXGP race team the story revolves around.

Some pieces in the collection break technical ground for IWC, but the most compelling isn’t the most complex or expensive. It’s the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 APXGP—a piece that quietly masters one of the most debated design choices in watchmaking.

Conflict Over Contrast

A close-up of the face IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 APXGPIWC

Two-tone watches are formally defined as timepieces with designs dominated by two types of metal. However, functionally, the term can also apply to watches that lean simply into two contrasting metallic shades.

It’s one of the most controversial design choices routinely debated and defended in various watch circles. Some view most two-toned examples as either too gaudy or awkwardly retro, while others argue the design muddles the line between sporty and formal.

Still, many also find the contrast elegant and distinctive, especially when executed tastefully. The challenge lies in getting the proportions, materials, and tone just right.

Adidas Kicks Off a More Affordable Version of One of Its Most Technical Hiking Shoes

Hiking shoe season is in full swing. And by that, I mean summer. Sure, a solid pair of hiking sandals can do the trick for watery and more casual adventures. But if you want something a little more hardcore that’ll keep your feet protected without bogging you down like a boot, a hiking shoe is the way to go.

That goes double if you’re trying to ascend more challenging peaks.

Unfortunately, shoes capable of handling that are often pretty expensive. That’s why the Adidas Terrex Skychaser AX5 Gore-Tex is so exciting. This highly-technical footwear is also pretty damn affordable.

Adidas

Made for adventure

For reference, the Adidas Terrex Skychaser shoes, especially those equipped with waterproofing, are among the brand’s most technical hikers. This version maintains that technical prowess, while offering it at a much lower price point.

That includes elements like a chunky Continental outsole with offset chevron lugs ideal for conquering uneven terrain. It also has an EVA foam midsole — what the brand calls Lightmotion — that’s both lightweight and cushiony for all-day hiking comfort.

G-Shock’s Unbeatably Affordable Watch Just Became as Pristine as Possible

Despite costing under $100, G-Shock’s long-running 5600 Series is among the Casio sub-brand’s best offerings. One of its big strengths is its expansive catalog of colorway options, ranging from mild to wild (like the recent Sith-like black-and-red drop).

However, the latest version, the G-Shock DW5600WW-7, is unique in that its colorway makes it perhaps the most minimalist in the entire lineup.

G-Shock 5600 Series DW5600WW-7 Watch on wood on sand
This all-white G-Shock might be the most minimalist and pristine in the entire 5600 Series lineup.
G-Shock

White as the freshly laden snow

What sets this particular G-Shock apart is its complete and utter lack of color. This is about as pale as any of the brand’s watches have ever been.

Over the course of the 5600 Series’ history, there have been other white versions (including this currently available one). Still, they usually have a pop of color or stylistic flourish somewhere.

By comparison, this one is almost entirely devoid of even a speck of contrast, if not for its silver pushers, buckle and gray dial lettering. Of course, it still has the watch’s signature display with its gray background and black digits, letters and icons.

Nothing Headphones 1Nothing

Nothing Headphones 1

The Headphones 1 are Nothing’s first-ever pair of wireless over-ear headphones. They have a similar striking design with transparent elements as the brand’s smartphones and wireless earbuds. And, most interestingly, Nothing partnered with KEF, the British hi-fi maker, to ensure that the headphones sound great. Additionally, the Headphones have active noise-cancellation and transparency modes. And they promise up to 35 hours of battery with ANC turned on.

Ferrari AmalfiFerrari

Ferrari Amalfi

Ferrari has given its Roma GT such a comprehensive refresh that the brand has even changed the name. Now called the Amalfi, this grand tourer still has the same twin-turbo V8 engine, but now it produces 631 horsepower (up from 612), although the top speed is still the same 198 mph. It also has a much more minimalist exterior design, swapping the front grille for a sleeker air intake reminiscent of high-powered aircraft (and maybe a spaceship or two). It also gets a more purist-focused interior design, including a return to a more tactile control scheme.

a Rado tennis watchRado

Rado Captain Cook x Tennis

Rado decorated its iconic dive watch with a subtle homage to the first sport it sponsored, tennis, back in 1985. Tennis ball-colored dots are placed at 0, 15, 30, and 40, referring to the sport’s scoring system, along with a matching point on the second hand. The otherwise monochromatic design has a gray sunburst dial and gray brushed ceramic dive bezel, and it comes on a stainless steel beads of rice bracelet, along with three nylon NATO straps in blue, green and orange. It is limited to 1,985 pieces.

The frame features TDF-specific touches including the four famous jerseys, while the bike itself boasts custom gear sets, freewheel spin and even drop handlebars, enabling you to train in the same posture as you ride and race in. With adaptive tech adjusting training in real time, the bike also offers expert training from iFit coaches and the opportunity to ride through premier cycling destinations with cycling stars including three-time US National Crit champ Coryn Labecki and 2012 TDF winner Bradley Wiggins. Note: The bike is expected to ship next month but you can pre-order now.

Nothing Phone 3Nothing

Nothing Phone 3

Nothing’s Phone 3 is the company’s first true flagship smartphone. It maintains the standout transparent design of its predecessors, but it’s built with more premium materials, features an upgraded processor (Snapdragon 8S Gen 4), and has a flagship-worthy triple-camera system on its back. One significant change from Nothing’s other smartphones is that, instead of a Glyph interface (an array of customizable light strips on its back), the Phone 3 features a small circular LED display in the top-right corner of its back, which it calls the Glyph Matrix. This can show little images or emojis to give you an idea of what kind of notification you’ve received without having to flip the phone over. Also, unlike Nothing’s most recent smartphones, the Phone 3 will actually be available for purchase in the US.

This Café Racer Is the Ideal Blend of Style and Tech, but There’s Reason to Be Suspicious

A first for Honda … or is it?

Here’s where things get really dicey. Many outlets are reporting that this is Honda’s first-ever electric motorcycle, but that’s not as clear-cut as it might seem.

For starters, Honda has released electric two-wheelers in the past, including 2018’s PCX Electric. Granted, that (and its siblings) are scooters and not true motorcycles, so technically it still could be considered factual, depending on your perspective.

The bigger issue, however, is this bike’s place of origin. Yes, the bike has a Honda badge slapped on its lower body, but it’s not exactly a Honda moto. This bike is made by Wuyang-Honda, a Chinese joint venture founded and funded by Guangzhou Motorcycle Group and Honda.

Again, yes, technically, you could call it a Honda motorcycle. You could even say it’s Honda’s first commercially available full-sized electric motorcycle. But then you’ll have to explain that it’s a Chinese domestic offering, only available for the Chinese market, with no clear path to a global release.

This Brand’s Best Looking Watch in Years Reps a 186-Year-Old Sporting Event

From the Temple to the bridge

The Henley Royal Regatta encompasses 26 events, each known by the trophy cup claimed by the winner. Most race formats overlap with the Olympic rowing competitions, and the most celebrated is the Grand Challenge Cup, which dates back to the event’s founding.

Races are categorized by the number of participants, whether or not there is a coxswain, age and gender. But they all follow the same course, which runs “about one mile and 550 yards” upstream from Temple Island to Henley Bridge.

Contestants come from all over the world, but predominantly represent English, Eastern European and American schools and clubs. Some of the top American competitors are the teams from Ivy League schools like Princeton, Columbia and Harvard.

Famously documented by Jack Carlson in the book Rowing Blazers, which spawned the clothing label by the same name, rowing culture has a fashion ethos dating back to the sport’s Victorian-era roots. The Henley, as it is known, doubles as a showcase for team regalia.

This Quirky Ceramic Moonphase Watch Is Hiding Some Serious Innovation

In previous steel versions, it relied on a steel click spring. However, with this ceramic one, the brand swapped it for a steel ball bearing and compression spring mechanism to grant it its “tactile, well-indexed rotation.”

To take things a step further, the brand was also sure to make the whole timepiece modular and repairable. There are no press-fit pieces or glue. The entire housing and all components can be taken apart.

Don’t let the cuteness fool you; this watch results from some serious innovation.
De Rijke & Co.

Cutsey on the streets, a technical marvel in the sheets

The reimaginging and reengineering of the brand’s signature rotating case is only one of the watch’s impressive bits. The moonphase disc below the dial also went through a complete redesign.

The brand had to figure out how to maintain the proper color blue without losing the 3D effect of the etching. Now, it requires an intensive nine-step process to produce, including applying its vibrant SuperLuminova glow.

This Minimalist EDC Sling Bag Is a Deceptively Adaptable Powerhouse

But shine a light directly on it — like car headlights — and it reveals its true nature: its reflective. That subtle feature adds to its appeal as a commuter pack, as it adds some safety in low-light conditions, helping make the wearer more visible.

Along with being durable and reflective, the fabric is also water-resistant, helping keep its contents dry in inclement weather — another boon to city-going commuters. It also gets a quick-release clip on the shoulder strap, as well as an external keyring that doubles as a bottle opener in a pinch.

While the outside is highly minimalist, the interior is smartly organized.
Orbitkey

Utilitarian dynamo

As minimalist as its exterior is, this bag is hiding some serious internal organization. The main pouch (accessible via a YKK zipper), for instance, has a large primary compartment, a couple of pouches (sized for iPhones and wallets and the like), and a secondary internal zippered pouch for smaller and more sensitive items.

The scheme is simple but comprehensive, allowing you to keep all your EDC gear (and anything else you might be carrying around) orderly and easily-accessed. But that’s just the start.
