G-Shock’s Best New Affordable Beaters Get the Midas Touch Treatment

The GA100GGB-1A9 also has a completely golden dial with the indices inverted to black. The final watch, the GD010GB-1A9, is the most subtle of them all — due largely to its full-digital display — but it still has a golden ring around the dial and gold G-Shock lettering at the top of the case.

Originally, all four of these watches were only available in Japan. Thankfully, things didn’t stay that way, and they have now all been launched on US shores, so you can get your black-and-gold fix, too.

Glitz and glamor go hard

As eye-catching as these watches are, there’s an even more imperative element at work here: they’re still G-Shock watches. And that comes with some big expectations.

Not that it was ever in question, but these watches are just as balls-to-the-wall tough as the brand’s offerings have always been. Furthermore, they’re fully equipped with the same massive array of complications and other features brand fans have come to expect.

Kuxiu M30 Magnetic Smart Connector Charger for iPad Pro/Air

Apple infamously hasn’t brought wireless charging to its iPad line, but this nifty charging cable seemingly does just that. The Kuxiu M30 magnetically attaches to the Smart Connector pins on the back of the iPad Pro or Air, which are typically used to connect its various accessories, and charges it at up to 35 watts. This allows you to charge the iPad while also freeing up its USB-C port, so you can simultaneously connect other accessories, such as an SSD or your camera. Note: no wall adapter is included, so you’ll have to provide your own.

The Macallan Harmony Collection Single Malt Whiskies

While it might seem odd at first, the marriage of single malt whisky and tea is pure, unadulterated genius. And The Macallan’s latest collaboration — a partnership with Jing — capitalizes on it in two ways. The first is Inspired By Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea, “a rare and aromatic oolong tea traditionally grown in the Phoenix Mountain range of Guangdong, China.” The second is Inspired By Organic Cherrywood Lapsang Tea, “a reinvented take on Lapsang Souchong, delicately smoked over cherrywood in the UK.” Both are aged in both American and European sherry casks, and they’re sure to be a unique treat for anyone lucky enough to get a bottle (or two).

Eccentrica V12 Titano

The Eccentrica V12 is a restomod of the legendary Lamborghini Diablo that keeps most of the design language from the ’90s supercar icon but loads it up with modern upgrades inside and out. The Titano version takes things further by transforming the road-going car into a legitimate track weapon by equipping it with a newly tuned suspension, a remapped ECU, a new carbon wing and forged carbon wheels, a motorsports-derived steering wheel and more. With just 19 Eccentrica V12 cars being produced across three variants, the Titano is extremely limited, but you can try your luck at obtaining one by contacting Eccentrica.

Portland Design Works BigZag 32oz Bottle Cage

This sturdy, side-loading hydration-holding option is perfect for lugging bigger bottles around town. Mount it on the downtube or fork and you can tote up to a 32-ounce Nalgene (or other, similarly sized vessel), keeping your payload secure by adding a hyper-versatile Voile strap to one or both of the built-in slots. (Boasting 5mm stainless steel tubing, the 3.6-ounce cage is probably burly enough to handle wine or whiskey bottles, too, but you didn’t hear that from us.)

This Surprising Brand Nailed the Perfect Three-Season Jacket for Under $300

Play the hits

The Wills Trench Coat roughly resembles the Mackintosh Dunkeld Coat, a raincoat so iconic that it birthed the entire genre of Mac coats. The Scottish brand invented a rubberised fabric to create the first raincoat in 1824.

a man with his hand in the pocket of his Wills trench coat
The double-layer patch pockets have a top entry and a side entry.
Wills

Based on a combination of exceptional quality, strong reputation and domestic production, Mackintosh Dunkeld Coats cost over $2,000, which makes the Wills alternative an exceptional value off the bat.

However, Wills remixed the classic Mac formula by incorporating elements like raglan sleeves, much like the kind found on Barbour’s Bedale jacket.

The Dunkeld’s simple vented pockets are replaced with large patch double pockets, each with a flap entry on top and a side handwarmer pocket beneath, just like the pockets on a Gloverall Duffle Coat.

Trump’s Tariffs Just Made My Favorite Affordable Watch Brand Way More Expensive

President Trump consistently states or implies that countries outside of the U.S. are responsible for paying his tariffs to the U.S. Government. This is backwards. When the U.S. levies a tariff on another country, this is a tax on the American importer of the foreign good from the tariffed country.

For example, let’s say I’m a watch dealer based in the U.S. who imports watches from Switzerland for $1,000 each. And let’s say that, like Christopher Ward, I mark those watches up by three times what I pay for them. That means I sell these watches at $3,000 each and make a profit that’s 200 percent above cost.

Now, along comes a 39 percent tariff. Suddenly, my cost to import those watches has increased from $1,000 to $1,390 each. In order to maintain my profits at 200 percent above cost, I’ll be charging $4,170 per watch — an increase of $1,170, or 39 percent.

a christopher ward watch checkout screen
Tariffs now add over $1,700 to the price of a Christopher Ward Bel Canto.
Christopher Ward

To illustrate what this looks like on some real watches, I played around on CW’s website. The Bel Canto with a Fine Leather Strap retails for $3,895, making the flagship chiming watch one of the pricier pieces offered by Ward, but it’s still very affordable for what you’re getting. After entering my address and proceeding through checkout, you’ll see a customs duty charge of $1,754.84, which, along with the Connecticut sales tax of $247.33, brings the new total to $5,897.17 — nearly $6,000.

OK, let’s try it with a dive watch. How about the classic Trident Pro 300? It’s a mere $1,095 on a bracelet — a crazy bargain. We have our CT tax of $69.53 and a customs duty of … $529.28, for a total price of $1,693.81. Decidedly less of a bargain.

This Refreshingly Old-School Supercar Is a Stunning Antidote to Automation

a close-up rendering of a hypercar
The GP1 will forgo hybrid power entirely in favor of a naturally aspirated 6.6-liter V12 engine.
Garagisti & Co.

Along with having DEXET handle the aerodynamics and design the chassis, this means that Garagisti & Co. is working with Italtecnica Srl on the 6.6-liter V12 and tapping industry names like Brembo, Öhlins and Xtrac for the brakes, suspension and transmission, respectively.

As if that weren’t enough, the shapely bodywork comes courtesy of former Bugatti and Rimac designer Angel Guerra. If there are elements that look familiar, that’s because it takes inspiration from the Lancia Stratos Zero, the Countach and various other Marcello Gandini works.

Though there’s an undeniable ’80s wedge about the GP1, it’s also modern and flowing.

Speaking to the moment

Given the number of startups looking to break into the market, it’s easy to dismiss a car like the GP1 as vaporware. However, the company itself is the product of a lived (and very real) passion for Italian supercars.

In addition to being a prominent collector, company founder Mario Escudero is also a serious driver. Just last year, he tripled the mileage on his Lamborghini Countach — and it’s a one-of-one Arancio Miura 25th Anniversary Edition.

Mr. Fish x Sinclair 007 Camp Collar Shirts

Two legendary names in British men’s fashion have teamed up to celebrate the 60th anniversary of one of James Bond’s most stylish films, Thunderball, with faithful reissues of the classic camp collar shirts worn by 007 in the movie. Mr. Fish, the eponymous brand of the late designer Michael Fish, who designed the iconic cocktail cuff shirts for Turnbull & Asser that Sean Connery wore throughout his run as Bond, and the namesake brand of the late Anthony Sinclair, who tailored Connery’s suits in the films, are the English dream team behind the new collab. The iconic pink and navy linen-blend shirts from the film both reappear here, along with Bond’s pink and blue gingham and blue striped shirts, all in seersucker. There’s also a white camp-collar shirt that did not appear in the film but is a classic look nonetheless. All are available online and priced at $200 each.

For the first of its 16 coachbuilt Batur convertibles, Bentley’s Mulliner division has unveiled an example finished in Opalite white with Beluga black and Mandarin orange accents as well as a unique ‘one plus one’ interior design. With 740 horsepower under the hood courtesy of a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12, the Batur is the most powerful W12 droptop in the brand’s history. Though this example is not for sale, interested buyers can reach out to Bentley Mulliner to learn more about commissioning opportunities.

Norrøna Dividable 125L Trolley Bag

Norwegian brand Norrøna has made a name for itself with high-end, high-concept solutions for intrepid adventurers, and its latest hauler is no exception. Standing and scooting like typical rolling luggage, this trolley bag eschews the traditional telescopic handle in favor of two diagonal handles, which ease storage and shave weight, helping it tip the scales at just 6.3 pounds. Complete with a PFC-free DWR finish and duffel-like handles, the bag also uniquely opens like a clamshell to reveal color-coded compartments that aid organization.

Noble Audio Kronos IEMsNoble Audio

Noble Audio Kronos

Noble Audio’s Kronos are the Texas-based hi-fi maker’s newest flagship in-ear monitors (IEMs). They’re designed to be very similar to the company’s extremely limited-edition Chronicle ($6,130) — of which only 118 were made — as the two IEMs share a similar nine-driver array paired with a six-way crossover system. The result is a dynamic and expansive sound in a pair of easy-to-drive headphones (impedance is under 35 ohms). Additionally, the earbuds are beautifully designed, with precision CNC-machined titanium shells and titanium damascus-finished faceplates (similar to that of a custom knife). According to the brand, the Kronos IEMs are “designed to satisfy audiophiles, collectors, and enthusiasts alike.”

Nike Jordan Franchise Crossbody BagNike

Nike Jordan Franchise Crossbody Bag

The Nike sub-brand Jordan is known for its sneakers; that’s no secret. So, it might seem odd to hear that they did a crossbody EDC bag. That said, the brand has absolutely nailed it, offering a sleek, stylish, minimalist appearance paired with some serious durability. The outside is made from a water-repellent Cordura nylon, making it weatherproof and ultra-tough. The adjustable shoulder strap is thick webbing, making it tough and comfy. It also has plenty of internal space and organization, including an integrated key tether and a mesh internal pouch. Best of all, you get all this (and more) for just $40.

Unless you’ve been living under a (wifi-free) rock, you’ve likely noticed a significant uptick in the quantity of smaller motorcycles popping up all over the world.

Heck, even big bike stalwarts like Harley-Davidson are recognizing the demand for more affordable and approachable bikes; the legendary American manufacturer recently announced plans for a sub-$6,000 bike that should land in the 400cc to 500cc range.

Meanwhile, brands such as BSA, Kawasaki and Triumph continue tapping into the trend with a number of small wonders, including several we are crossing our fingers make their way to US shores soon.

Catch up on the latest notable moto releases — including just one bike with an engine bigger than 652cc — below.

kawasaki versys 650 motorcycleKawasaki

2026 Kawasaki Versys 650

Along with stunning paint schemes, this bike boasts a 649cc parallel-twin engine that makes 66.1 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 44.9 Ib-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm, more than enough power to zip through gridlock and rip through twisties. Keeping things safe and comfortable are responsive disc brakes, Kawasaki’s own traction control system and solid suspension: a 41mm inverted telescopic fork, with adjustable rebound damping and adjustable preload, plus a single rear shock with remote spring preload adjustability.

Morbidelli F125

This small wonder packs a liquid-cooled, DOHC 125cc single-cylinder engine making 14.48 horsepower at 9,500 rpm and 8.51 pound-feet of torque at 8,000 rpm. The seat height of 31.3 inches is not low, but together with a curb weight of 315 pounds, it should be manageable for many beginners. Adding to the approachability is a slipper clutch, a 33mm upside-down fork with 130mm (5.1 inches) of travel, an adjustable multilink rear shock and dual discs with ABS.

2025 bsa bantam 350 motorcycleBSA Motorcycles

2025 BSA Bantam 350

Deriving its name from a bike that debuted 77 years ago, this attractively retro-styled 6-speed features a liquid-cooled, four-stroke 334cc single-cylinder making 29 horsepower at 7,750 rpm. For comfortable handling, the Bantam 350 has telescopic forks offering 4.3 inches of front travel and two pre-tensionable rear shock absorbers providing 3.9 inches in back, plus Bybre disc brakes and ABS. With a 399-pound curb weight and 31.4-inch seat height, it should be approachable for beginners, too.

2026 suzuki gixxer 1000Suzuki Cycles

2026 Suzuki GSX-R1000R

Just in time for the 40th anniversary of the original Gixxer, a number of GSX-Rs are getting meaningful updates, headlined by this one. In compliance with Euro 5+ emission and noise regulations, the new R1000R features a 998cc inline-four engine making 192.4 horsepower at 13,200 rpm and 81.1 lb-ft of torque at 11,000 rpm. It also boasts modern Suzuki tech, including a 3-axis, 6-direction IMU, tracking pitch, roll and yaw movement, Suzuki’s Clutch Assist System and a bi-directional quickshifter.

2025 bsa scrambler 650BSA Motorcycles

2025 BSA Scrambler 650

Inspired by old-school BSA bikes like 1970 B25, this multi-surface marauder boasts the same scrappy engine as BSA’s recently reintroduced Gold Star: a liquid-cooled 652cc single cylinder making 45bhp at 6,500rpm and 40.5 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm. While it’s probably best to keep the off-roading “light,” the Scrambler 650 does have a number of dirt-ready features, including knobby Pirelli Scorpion STR tires (19-inch front, 17-inch rear), a bash plate, 41mm telescopic forks and dual shocks with a 5-setting preload.

Triumph Thruxton 400

This new sized-down Thruxton boasts classic café racer styling — clip-on bars, round bar-end mirrors, color-matched fairing, tank and bullet-seat cowl — and the same 398cc single cylinder engine as Triumph’s other popular small-displacement bikes, including the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 XC. However, Triumph has notably tuned this one’s beating heart to stand out with what it calls an “even more addictive top end” — its 41.4bhp bests the Scrambler 400 X’s 39.5bhp while maintaining the same peak torque.

This Everyday Watch’s Dazzling Style Has a Surprising Military Origin

Have you ever thought your sports watch could use a little extra, to quote Bill Murray in Stripes, razzle-dazzle?

Swiss watchmaker Ball Watch Company and British watch magazine Oracle Time did — literally. The duo teamed up to make a special version of Ball’s Engineer II everyday sports watch featuring a unique dial pattern based on the striking dazzle camouflage used on warships during the First World War.

Dazzling Dial

a Ball Watch
Just a bit of literal razzle-dazzle.
Oracle Time

Known as dazzle camo in the UK and razzle dazzle in the U.S., this type of camouflage is recognized for its hectic patterns of intersecting geometric shapes in different colors — originally black, white and gray.

The camo, which is very bold, was not intended to conceal the ships like typical camouflage. Rather, its confusing visual patterns made it difficult for an enemy observer to accurately judge the ship’s distance, speed and, especially, the direction it’s headed.

The camo was invented by a Brit, a marine painter named Norman Wilkinson, who refined an earlier rejected idea from fellow Brit and zoologist John Graham Kerr, who proposed ships painted like zebras.

After Two Years of Confusion, the Ultimate Jeep Wrangler Is Officially Here to Stay

When Jeep first introduced the Wrangler Rubicon 392 back in 2021, the brand planned on making the Hemi-powered off-roader a limited-run model.

Come time for discontinuation in 2024, the V8 Wrangler did receive a send-off in the form of the Final Edition. Ultimately, however, Jeep decided to give the model an encore and bring it back for 2025.

Confusingly, this year’s Rubicon 392 model was named (once again) the Final Edition. And, even though it seemed like the V8 Wrangler was definitely getting its last hurrah, Jeep has just announced that it’s here to stay — and for years to come.

The 392 is back again (again)

As reported by Car and Driver, Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf made it clear at an event yesterday that the Wrangler 392 V8 won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

On the contrary — Broderdorf stated that, “We will extend the availability of the 392 Wrangler, and in fact, we will tap the power and performance of the Hemi across Jeep products as new projects are already underway.”

The Best Bargain in Automatic Watches Just Got Even Better

Specs

Case Size 42mm
Movement Orient caliber F6922 automatic
Water Resistance 200m

The Mako is the Orient’s most popular dive watch, but the Kamasu, which means “barracuda” in Japanese, has a more classic look. It has lume-filled geometric applied indices and an arrowhead hour hand.

With 200m water resistance, the Kamasu actually outperforms the modern Seiko 5 Sports dive watch collection in the water. It also has a similar engine under the hood. So, all things considered, Orient has its cousin beat in the entry dive watch department.

The anniversary model

an Orient moon phase watchOrient

Orient Bambino IX 75th Anniversary Edition

Orient created a whole suite of watches to celebrate its 75th anniversary, but the most classic option is the Bambino IX, which has a day subdial and moonphase. The dial is accented with heat-blued hands and applied Roman numeral indices.

The standout feature of the dial is the brand logo. For the anniversary collection, Orient brought back its original script logo from the 1950s, but it only appears on six references, including two of the Snoopy collaborations.

The Entry-Level Version of Kawasaki’s Most Iconic Motorcycle Just Got Even Better

The Ninja 500’s seat height, curb weight and power combine into a compelling beginner-friendly package.
Kawasaki

With a curb weight of 377 pounds and seat height of 30.9 inches, the Ninja 500 is particularly welcoming to both beginners and smaller riders.

But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t pack a punch. Tapping perfectly into a growing trend of smaller-displacement bikes, the 451cc parallel twin engine makes 51 hp at 10,000 rpm and 31.7 lb-ft of torque at 7,500 rpm.

While the bike does have a reliable brake and suspension system, I might suggest beginners shell out a few hundred extra bucks to add ABS, which could save you from a dangerous slide if you have to brake suddenly.

This rare stripped-down image provides a nice look at the bike’s spirited 451cc beating heart.
Kawasaki

Either way, with a top speed well over 100 miles per hour, this little Ninja can serve as a pretty pulse-pounding introduction to Kawasaki’s extensive line of sport and supersport bikes.

You can always work your way up to $59,100, 998cc, 321.5-hp Ninja H2R down the road, right?

Your iPhone Is About to Get a Helpful New Charging Feature

When Apple rolls out iOS 26 in just over a month’s time, it’s going to give your iPhone a pretty simple — yet really useful — new charging feature that you’ll use all the time.

Specifically, when you start charging your iPhone, it will tell you exactly how long it will take until it’s fully charged.

Charging time estimates

iOS 26 battery charge estimates
With iOS 26, you’ll be able to see how long it’ll take to recharge your iPhone to 80% right from the Lock Screen.
Photo by Tucker Bowe for Gear Patrol

Apple has already released the public beta of iOS 26, providing us with our first experience of the upcoming features. One of these is the new charging estimate feature.

When you start charging an iPhone running iOS 26, either via a wired or wireless connection, the Lock Screen will display the current charge level and the estimated time to reach 80% charge. This way, you can leave your iPhone charging and come back exactly when it’s ready to go.

However, there’s one caveat: Once the iPhone’s charge gets 80% or higher, the charge estimate disappears from the Lock Screen.

Seiko’s New Chronograph Is Modeled After a Cult-Classic Toyota

The oversized subdial at 6:00 features the iconic “D” logo of the manga along with a red small seconds hand. To the right of this we’ve got a 4:30 date window that’s color-matched to the black lower portion of the dial, along with some Japanese text referencing the Fujiwara Tofu Shop just above 4:00. There’s no other text on the dial outside of the Seiko wordmark at 12:00, which is great: I hate when collab watches go overboard with the secondary branding. This has more of an IYKYK feel.

The case is in stainless steel and measures 40mm across. It looks to be mostly brushed, as does the three-link steel bracelet. The stainless steel tachymeter bezel, meanwhile, appears to have a polished finish, as do the pump-style pushers and a chamfer along the lugs. The closed caseback features the Initial D logo along with the watch’s number from 1 – 1,995, with the limited run coinciding with the year the manga made its debut.

Rounding out the specs, we’ve got a Hardlex crystal, 100m water resistance, a thickness of 12.8mm and a lug-to-lug distance of 47mm.

a seiko watch next to a manga illustraion of a man leaning on a toyota car
You can never have enough panda styling.
Japan-Select

Pricing and Availability

As far as collabs go, this looks really good. Even without the Initial D connection, the dual-panda scheme looks cool, and the connections to a cult-favorite Toyota drift machine and gearhead-endorsed manga only sweeten the pot.

The watch is limited to 1,995 pieces, so while fairly rare, it’s a big enough number that I don’t expect these to sell out crazy fast. However, as I could hardly find any official info on this release anywhere, I strongly suspect it’s intended for the Japanese market only, meaning any American buyers will likely have to pay a premium to get one.

Citizen Is Coming for Grand Seiko’s Lunch With a Pair of New Watches

The Citizen collection now has visual refinements that arguably outclass Grand Seiko’s quartz models, which are currently all made of steel and still cost over $1,000 more.

Alongside the reference AQ4100, Citizen also released the reference AQ4106, which has a rose gold DLC-coated case and a Duratect Sakura Pink dial that resembles white clouds with a rosy hue at sunset.

Both watches are complete with genuine crocodile leather straps, fitted with Super Titanium folding clasps. If you’re more concerned with accuracy than an automatic movement, The Citizen is starting to look like a more appealing value than its vaunted competitor.

Like flowing water

Grand Seiko has always been in a class of its own when it comes to dial textures. Along with Zaratsu polishing and Spring Drive movement technology, it has been a trademark feature of the elite watchmaker.

The World’s Most Beautiful Station Wagon Could Soon Become a Reality

Following nearly two decades penning cars for Jaguar, automotive designer Ian Callum now keeps himself busy with various projects through his eponymous firm, Callum.

Along with imagining the future of mobility through various forward-looking concepts, the outfit has also homologated historic Bond cars for road use, sculpted Dakar-competing 4x4s and redefined British classics like the Mini Cooper.

a photo of a blue aston martin shooting brake on a grey backdrop
Callum’s Aston Martin Vanquish shooting brake takes the wagon body style to the next level.
Callum

In other words, were anyone else to tease the Vanquish shooting brake that you see before you, it’d be easily dismissible as vaporware.

However, Callum has a history of turning dreams into reality — meaning what is undoubtedly one of the world’s most beautiful station wagons will likely be hitting the road before too long.

Answering the call

Ian Callum took to Instagram to announce that the firm would be accepting commissions for a shooting brake version of the Aston Martin Vanquish. Even though the image is of a pre-production concept, the possibility of it hitting the road is very real.

After all, with enough money to fund a bespoke vehicle, who wouldn’t want to see an Aston Martin Vanquish realized as a raked-out hatch? From tip to tail, the station wagon is stunning.

Behold: The Swiss Army Knife Alternative That Broke Kickstarter

The bit holder also accommodates a 4mm pen tip for taking notes and there’s a separate bit holder on the side for 90-degree bit driving — perfect for tight spaces, plus extra leverage/torque when tightening or loosening.

Among the other most useful tools are a glass breaker, ferrocerium fire strike and a bottle opener.

This particular function is almost obligatory but always welcome at the end of a hard day.
Hacksmith Industries

Helping to boost the numbers — and admittedly quite handy for some folks — are a 15° adjustable protractor, nail file, tweezers, metric and imperial ruler, adjustable pocket clip, SIM tool/sewing awl, tritium illuminator, tungsten carbide metal scribe and bubble level.

Does all that add up to an SAK/Leatherman killer? Guess we’ll find out this fall.

This Affordable CD Player Is Primed for Modern Audiophiles

It’s been a big few days for CD fans.

Just last week, Onkyo revealed that it’s adding an all-new CD player to its upcoming Icon Series of hi-fi components (scheduled to be released this fall).

And now, Shanling, a well-known Chinese audio manufacturer, has announced the release of a new and improved version of its CD player, the CD80, which was introduced just last year.

The Shanling CD80 II has been upgraded with two notable improvements over its predecessor.

First, Shanling upgraded the CD80 II with the same tray-style CD loading mechanism and HD450 laser that was previously featured in its high-end CD player, the Shanling CD-S100 ($589). According to the brand, this ensures highly accurate and convenient playback.
