One of Porsche’s Most Polarizing Models Just Got a 1,000-HP Performance Overhaul

With its quintessentially ’80s pop-up headlights and its unforgettable flachbau front end, the 930 Turbo Slantnose is one of the rare cases of Porsche deviating from the norm in the 911’s 60-plus-year history.

At the time of its debut, the model was a niche offering, and it remains polarizing in its popularity even to this day. As such, it’s not often that it gets representation on the aftermarket.

F-26 is the first time that Gunter Werks has taken its talents to a Porsche slantnose design.
Gunther Werks

Ever prepared to push the envelope, Gunther Werks’s latest effort honors the slantnose Porsche through its exorbitant carbon fiber construction, 1,000-horsepower air-cooled flat-six and, of course, striking front-end design.

Carbon fiber flachbau

The car is called Project F-26, and it gets its name from both its slippery fighter jet-like shape and its limited production volume (just 26 units).

Moreover, Gunther Werks has looked to the Porsche 935 race car and 930 road car for inspiration. However, there is one key difference: instead of the slantnose’s pop-up headlights, the carbon fiber front end features a set of low-profile fixed units.

Breitling’s Tough New Chronograph Eats Other Sports Watches for Breakfast

This new Endurance Pro swaps out the Breitlight case for one made of titanium. Not only does the metal provide a bit more heft and a more premium feel, but it’s also stronger and more durable. To top things off, Breitling gave the watch a color scheme inspired by the Ironman World Championship logo, utilizing light blue, teal and orange throughout the watch, while the logo itself appears on the 6:00 subdial.

In addition to the titanium watch, Breitling has also launched a second Endurance Pro Ironman for 2025. This version, which is also a limited edition, was made for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship, which is half the length of the Ironman World Championship. As such, the watch doesn’t get quite as hardcore of a revamp — it still has a Breitlight case rather than titanium — but I actually prefer the color scheme of this one, as it pairs a gradient teal dial with a teal rubber strap to mimic the logo of the 70.3 World Championship. It’s quite nice-looking.

Pricing and Availability

As I already mentioned, both Ironman versions of the Endurance Pro are limited editions. The titanium version, while more expensive, is also more plentiful, surprisingly. Priced at $4,150, it’s limited to 500 pieces. The Breitlight style, meanwhile, is limited to just 300 pieces but is more affordable at $3,750.

Both watches are available now from Breitling and can be purchased directly from the brand’s website. It’s also worth noting that Breitling’s CEO estimates that the brand has enough overall stock in the U.S. to avoid tariff price increases on its watches until probably September, so as long as you pick one of these up in the next couple of weeks, you probably won’t be hit with any surprise extra fees.

Your Apple Watch Is Gaining a Simple Yet Practical New Ability

Basically, if you’re at an intimate gathering with friends, your Apple Watch will be able to detect this and not ring as loudly when somebody calls you or read out loud a message you’ve received. It essentially aims to prevent a social faux pas.

On the flip side, if you’re Apple Watch detects that you’re in a loud environment, turning this setting on will further increase the sound of these notifications so that you can hear them even better.

When the Automatically Adjust Volume setting is turned on, you have the option to further make these notifications louder or quieter.

If you’re somebody who is worried that this new setting will actually make Apple Watch notifications even more intrusive … don’t worry, you actually have some control over that.

Once the Automatically Adjust Volume setting is toggled on, you can further tweak how it’s implemented. Specifically, you can set the volume level of these notifications to be “Quieter” or “Louder,” depending on which you prefer.

If you leave the Automatically Adjust Volume setting off, you can select the exact volume level of these notifications via the volume slider.

Of course, if you have your Apple Watch permanently in silent mode — which many do — this new setting will not override it and you won’t hear any notifications.

A Hardcore Knife Brand Levels Up Its Formidable Flagship EDC Folder

What you might not be able to see is that this take borrows some inspiration from the brand’s SP model. That means this version is much slimmer and lighter, weighing just 3.7 ounces (compared to the ATB and AT’s 4.4-ounce weight).

But here’s the real kicker: those changes to its weight and girth come without compromises elsewhere; you’ll get the benefits of the refinement without sacrifice. The construction is as rock-solid as ever, and the materials are absolutely stellar.

Guaranteed rustproof for life

The Invictus-ATBSP is offered in four configurations — three that differ only in their colors, alongside one with a slightly more expensive material swap.

For all four, the base of the handle is made from tough, lightweight titanium (which is naturally rustproof). That includes its formidable frame lock. They also all come with a ceramic ball bearing pivot for smooth, quick deployment.

Adidas’s Military-Born Sneaker Looks Even Better in Waxed Canvas

Adidas’s take on the legendary German Army Trainer dresses up for fall.

Early fall is a time of change, reflection and all things waxed canvas.

For centuries, the rugged material has warded off inclement weather, all while look pretty dang dapper doing so. Today it remains a go-to fabric for grail-level jackets and even handsome sneakers.

You can thank Adidas for the latter.

Available via Adidas’s Confirmed app, the BW Army Shoes now come in waxed canvas.

Battle born

Having already revisited its in-house GAT, shorthand for the legendary Germany Army Trainer, the brand is doubling down on versatile silhouette with a waxed-canvas version ahead of cooler weather.

The new BW Army replaces traditional leather with a combination upper that pairs the old-school material with suede overlays.

In addition to waxed canvas, suede overlays give the new BW Army Shoes a luxe finish.

Waxed canvas is known to develop one-of-a-kind patina with wear.

While the waxed canvas alone promises plenty of patina as things stand, frayed edges give the design a broken-in look straight out of the box.

Meanwhile, the gum-rubber outsole remains virtually unchanged from the previous BW Army released in the spring.

Functionally, it borrows the “three-zone profile” of the Samba but replaced the Adidas logo for text that reads, “BW-Sport 265” — a reference to Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces).

The text “BW-Sport 256” replaces the Adidas logo on the sole of the sneakers.
Adidas

Keep your feet up

Adidas is far from the only brand to offer a modern take on the GAT, which dates back to the 1970s. Maison Margiela’s luxe interpretation is one of the most influential sneakers of the past 30 years.

However, Adidas has two legs up when it comes to making German Army Trainers.

Unlike many modern manufacturers of German Army Trainers, Adidas actually supplied the armed forces in the ’70s and ’80s.
Adidas

The first is a matter of authenticity. The sportswear giant actually supplied unbranded trainers to the actually supplied trainers to the West German Army throughout the ’70s and ’80s.

The previous version of the BW Army (pictured) stayed true to the original versions.

The second, of course, is price. Maison Margiela asks $750 for its iconic but lavish Replica sneaker. The BW Army, meanwhile, costs just $120.

The waxed-canvas version comes in two colorways, “Silver Pebble” and “Grey,” both available now via the brand’s Confirmed app.

Can Patagonia Outdo Arc’Teryx with a Beefy Big Brother to the Legendary Nano Puff?

However, there are also some significant differences. This jacket, for instance, boasts a combination of 170-g and 200-g PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Eco, making it much warmer than its slender brethren.

It also has some outdoorsy upgrades, like a hood that can go over a helmet (for skiing, snowboarding and climbing purposes), an interior storm flap, a zipper garage and zippered handwarmer pockets.

Finally, one of the most significant differences is this jacket’s shoulder and cuff overlays, which add a ton of durability where you need it most. The Hi-Loft Nano Puff Hoody is undoubtedly dead-of-winter capable and tough.

Taking aim at Arc’Teryx?

While many folks might see the Hi-Loft Nano Puff Hoody and think it fills in the space left by the now-defunct Patagonia Macro Puff, that might not be entirely correct.

Yes, this jacket fills in the slot left behind, sort of. However, it’s also heavier and more rugged than the Macro Puff. If I had to compare it to another jacket, it might be one made by Arc’Teryx: the Atom SV.

Lamborghini Fenomeno

Rumors of the death of the V12 engine were premature. The Lamborghini Fenomeno is the Italian automaker’s fastest car ever, and at the heart of its powertrain is the most powerful V12 engine ever produced by the Raging Bull. The Fenomeno’s 6.5L engine cranks out 823hp and 535 lb-ft of torque, but it alone isn’t responsible for the car’s Lambo-record top speed of 217mph. That’s because the Fenomeno is a plug-in hybrid that mates its mid-mounted V12 with three electric motors for a total power output of 1,065hp. We’ve seen a similar setup before in the Revuelto, but the fact that Lamborghini is not only continuing to use V12 engines in hybrids but also is putting in the necessary R&D to make those engines more powerful than ever shows there’s life left for the engine yet.

LG

LG Goldstar Heritage Fan

LG is best known for its consumer electronics — TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, ovens and even vacuum cleaners. But it got its start making much more modest things. One of its original electronic-focused products was the D-301 fan, which the brand has just lovingly revised for the modern era with the Golstar Heritage Fan you see here. Based on existing, still-functioning original models — which the brand had to track down to reference personally — this version combines modern tech with traditional styling and pays homage to the brand’s humble origins.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 FE are redesigned and more affordable versions of the Galaxy Buds 3 from last year. The “Fan Edition” wireless earbuds still have the AirPod-like stem (or “blade”) design of their predecessors, but they now work with swappable ear tips to help you get a better fit. They also boast improved call quality and a longer-lasting battery. They support active noise-cancellation, too. Available in two colors: black or gray (shown).

Revi

Revi The Challenger Helmet

Colorado-born, women-led Revi jumps into the alpine protection game with this affordable, fully featured ASTM F2040-certified brain bucket. Highlights include a micro-dial fit system, glove-friendly Fidlock magnetic buckle, adjustable ventilation and high style courtesy of seven two-tone colorways. The helmet also pairs perfectly with Revi’s inaugural goggle, The Catalyst ($160+). Both products are available for pre-order now, with shipping beginning in October.

17 New Watches You Missed from Omega, Timex, Unimatic and More

From afar, the watch industry may seem unhurried. But every passing day brings about new timepieces from brands big, small, new and old.

Below, find about a dozen new releases from the likes of Omega, Timex and others.

Together, they show an industry that never stops ticking — and, centuries later, can still find the time to surprise you.

Best New Gear: This article is part of an ongoing series collecting the most important new watches, gadgets, pocket knives and more. Catch up on other releases.

Glashütte Original

Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama “Plasma” and “Fusion”

After releasing a handsome panda dialed version of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama, Glashütte Original revisits the retro watch to showcase the might of its newly opened dial manufacturer. The watch gets two limited-edition colorways, lime-green “Plasma” and purple “Fusion,” both inspired for virtual worlds and limited to just 100 pieces.

Nodus

Nodus Contrail GMT Evergreen

Nodus’s affordable and visually striking flyer GMT gets an even more attractive glow-up with a green sunray dial, yellow accents and a green-and-white lumed sapphire bezel.

Nodus

Nodus Duality II Drift Blue

Nodus adds a vintage-inspired faded blue colorway to its modernized tribute to mid-century Super Compressor divers.

This Fan-Favorite Affordable Brand Finally Jumped on the Integrated Sports Watch Bandwagon

Watches are very trendy.

By that, I don’t mean more people are buying and wearing watches — although they certainly are — but that the watch industry follows distinct trends.

Much like the clothing industry, two or three features or categories dictate what most brands do annually. In 2025, watch cases are getting smaller, GMTs are still everywhere and there are more integrated sports watches than ever before.

The Integra Perlarum has a mother-of-pearl dial.
Farer

One of the freshest and most alluring new takes on the 1970s concept comes from Farer. The British watchmaker entered the increasingly crowded integrated bracelet market for the first time and went well beyond copying an established design.

Farer brilliantly named its new watch the Integra, Latin for “complete,” and the root for the word “integrated.” Following the linguistic format, all four references have Latin names related to each dial color.

The dark blue dial is called Tenebris, meaning “darkness,” the green dial is Viridis, Latin for “green,” and the copper dial is Cuprum, the Latin for the metal.

Two of the Best Tool Watches Under $1,000 Just Got Even More Tempting

The Duality II features a massive domed sapphire crystal that envelops the bezel, and it’s available with your choice of a 60-minute dive bezel or a 12-hour bezel for a lazy GMT. The movement inside is a Miyota Cal. 9015 automatic that’s regulated by Nodus to +/- 8 seconds a day. The 40mm case is water resistant to 300m.

The Contrail GMT also uses a Miyota movement, that darling of the microbrand world, the Cal. 9075. It’s an automatic GMT with an independently adjustable hour hand and is also regulated by Nodus to +/- 8 spd. The case measures 40.5mm across and the watch is water resistant to 200m.

It seems impossible that this watch costs only $825.
Nodus

Both the Contrail GMT and Duality II are thin, with cases thinner than 12mm, both include bracelets featuring the Nodus Extension clasp and quick-release spring bars, and both feature blue-tinted anti-reflective coating on the undersides of their crystals. The blue AR coating is perhaps my favorite feature of Nodus watches, as it looks very premium and unique for this price point. (It reminds me of the coating used by IWC on its sapphire crystals.)

Speaking of the price point, the Contrail GMT Evergreen comes in at just $825, and the Duality II Drift Blue is even cheaper at $800. Both prices are the same as what you’ll pay for other colors of the same models.

Filson’s Legendary ‘Yellowstone’ Jacket Just Got Its Most Rugged Upgrade in Decades

Rip Wheeler’s go-to layer gets ready for winter’s worst.

Filson

Every product is carefully selected by our editors. If you buy from a link, we may earn a commission. Learn more

Filson goes back to the 1800s, and its famous jacket has been around nearly as long.

Patents for the original Tin Cloth Cruiser were filed in 1914, and the dependable layer has remained a staple of the company’s catalog ever since.

That said, it’s the short version that most people recognize today.

Durable, dependable and popular as ever, the best-selling Short Lined Cruiser Jacket was the go-to choice for Cole Hauser’s character Rip Wheeler in Yellowstone — although the rumor on the street is that the show’s costume department tailored his jacket to sit higher on his torso.

Now the jacket is getting another alteration. And this time around, you can actually buy it.

Layer up

Like the original Short Cruiser, a new version headlining the brand’s fall and winter collection features a water-resistant exterior, which arrives here by way of 11-ounce waxed Shelter Cloth cotton.

A man wearing a brown water-resistant jacket with visible water droplets and a camouflage baseball cap is steering a boat on a body of water. The background shows a scenic view of trees and snow-capped mountains under a partly cloudy sky.
The Insulated Short Cruiser Jacket features an 11-ounce waxed cotton exterior.
Filson

But it also boasts a pair of upgrades that Hauser probably wishes were available when filming his winter scenes for the hit Paramount show.

The first of those is is internal insulation — a first-ever for the Short Cruiser — thanks to an additional layer of PrimaLoft Gold.

Brown jacket with a dark brown corduroy collar, quilted inner lining, snap button closure, and multiple front pockets. The jacket is partially open, showing the interior lining and buttonholes.

Despite the added layer, the Short Lined Cruiser Jacket retains its streamlined look.
Filson

That means it boasts one of the best warmth-to-weight ratios money can buy. Plus, it retains heat even when wet, unlike traditional down.

Filson also took a page out of Barbour’s playbook for the finer details: the jacket features corduroy lining on both the collar and cuff, bringing extra comfort to the wearer when it’s time to bundle up.

Pricing and availability

The Insulated Short Cruiser Jacket is available now from Filson’s official website.

It comes in two colors, “Dark Brown” and “Harbor Blue,” and costs $399 — a $40 premium over the uninsulated version.

This Special-Edition BMW Celebrates One of the Brand’s Most Divisive Models

Special-edition swan song

In any case, beyond the retro paint options, BMW is treating its M850i Edition M Heritage to a host of upgrades.

An M carbon fiber roof is included, as is the M Sport Professional package, a set of exclusive wheels, some M Sport brakes, M Shadowline lights and various unique aesthetic touches.

Red luxury sports sedan with sleek, aerodynamic design, black-tinted windows, and multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Though BMW’s E31 8 Series debuted as a two-door, the Edition M Heritage is only available as a four-door.
BMW

That’s not all — inside, BMW says that it sports “seating, upholstery and trim not available for order on other 8 Series models.” In practice, this basically means that the Edition M Heritage makes heavy use of Alcantara, and there’s no shortage of M badging.

However, there are other special items like a carbon fiber center console, and BMW is making luxe features like a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System and the Driving Assistance Professional Package standard.

The BMW M850i M Edition Heritage is highly exclusive, as just 500 models are being built worldwide.

This One-of-a-Kind Harley-Davidson Cruiser Runs on a Tractor Engine, Fry Grease and Big Dreams

For all the hype about our electric future, it’s important to remember that no energy solution is perfect and we should constantly, creatively pursue innovative approaches to fueling our wheels.

That’s the message 22-year-old University of British Columbia engineering student Alex Jennison and his team are seeking to spread in a pretty unusual way.

Vintage Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a yellow and brown fuel tank, black leather seat, and studded black leather saddlebags, parked outdoors with green trees and a clear blue sky in the background.
As bonkers as the idea of using a tractor engine in a motorcycle is, this yellow, brown and green color scheme kinda works, amiright?
Alex Jennison

See, to make his case that biodiesel (sourceable from restaurants, among other places) is superior to electric (which comes at the cost of, Jennison points out, deadly cobalt mining in Democratic Republic of the Congo), he built a motorcycle.

But not just any motorcycle. A 1999 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail with a tractor engine that runs on used vegetable oil, which he plans to ride 1,200 miles from Vancouver to Los Angeles, with several university publicity stops along the way.

Alt-alt energy

So why this bike and this engine?

“Kubota gifted us the engine to demonstrate that clean fuels are viable,” he told Canadian automotive website Driving. “I chose the 1999 Harley-Davidson because it is the last model to have the engine and gearbox separated instead of mated together.”

Oakley Brings Back Its Most Iconic (and Radical) Pair of Sunglasses, Ever

Oakley may never make another pair of sunglasses like the Overthetop, easily one of the brand’s most iconic designs over the last 50 years.

But they can still bring them back.

Releasing in collaboration with the Brazil-based brand P_Andrade, the Overthetop will return for only the second time since the pair debuted in 2000, coinciding with Paris Fashion Week.

Beige, futuristic-style sunglasses with a single red-tinted lens on one side and an open frame design. The frame has a smooth, sculpted appearance with small cut-out details along the top and sides.
Oakley teamed up with P_Andrade to rerelease the Overthetop sunglasses from the early 2000s.
P_Andrade

Turning heads since 2000

As the name suggests, the radical design eschews earstems, instead attaching to wearer with a hingeless fame that wraps the upper cranium.

Even non-collectors may remember the sunglasses from several films around the turn of the millennium, including Spiderman, Blade 2 and Spy Kids 3.

This Is the Absolute Finest Take on an Iconic Century-Old EDC Knife Design Ever

Each one is hand-forged and Tsuchime-hammered from layer upon layer of steel, granting it its distinctive texture. The sharpening process also brings out the equally unique hamon pattern of the edge (that wavy line that follows the edge itself).

To finish it off, each blade has the blacksmith’s Japanese kanji carved into it near the base of the spine. The hand hammering also does not interfere with the blade’s nail nick, maintaining its classic manual deployment.

A blacksmith wearing a white traditional shirt and black gloves is hammering a glowing hot piece of metal on an anvil, causing sparks to fly around. The workshop is dimly lit with industrial equipment and tools visible in the background.
This knife was made in collaboration with a Japanese master blacksmith.
Opinel

Style meets substance

The knife’s stunning blade is mated to a curly maple handle, which provides some stylistic contrast with the blade while still elevating the whole knife.

You’ll find another Opinel mainstay between the blade and handle: the brand’s signature Virobloc safety ring. This one boasts a matte black finish, but still functions the same as ever: twist it and it locks the knife in position (either open or closed). Twist it back the other way to unlock it yet again.

Samsung’s New 4K TV Promises to Set a New Standard for the Category

Few people have the space to fit a TV that’s over 100 inches. Even fewer are capable (or willing) to drop more than five figures on a TV. But those are the exact people Samsung is targeting with its latest TV.

Meet the Samsung Micro RGB TV. It’s a 115-inch TV that harnesses the brand’s proprietary Micro RGB Technology and costs a cool $30,000.

According to Samsung, it sets a “new standard” for the large-sized, ultra-premium TV market.

Below the TV is a wooden oval coffee table with two beige vases holding dried plants, a small decorative object, a dark bowl, and two stacked books. The room features neutral tones and natural light coming through a tall window with a view of green trees.

Breakthrough color

The Samsung Micro RGB TV is the first 115-inch TV to feature the brand’s proprietary Micro RGB technology. Essentially, it has a unique backlighting system — which utilizes red, green, and blue micro LED lights (each less than 100µm in size) — that allows it to deliver a brighter, more color-accurate picture than other TVs.

According to Samsung, “this breakthrough display delivers brilliant brightness and hyper-realistic hues, allowing you to indulge in color like never before.”

Samsung claims that its innovative backlighting system allows the TV to be more color accurate than big-screen TVs.

After Nearly 20 Years, a Legendary Japanese Sports Car Has Returned — but with an Unexpected Twist

Between the Integra and the Prelude, Honda has recently revived some iconic nameplates from its back catalog. Thankfully, in each case, it stayed pretty faithful to the original concept.

But the brand isn’t finished. Having teased that it was working on a new Acura RSX (as in, the early 2000s Integra successor) earlier this year, Honda is back with a pre-production prototype as part of Monterey Car Week.

Yellow electric SUV with sleek, angular design and black roof, parked indoors against a dark concrete wall. The vehicle features sharp LED headlights, black wheel arches, and multi-spoke black alloy wheels.
Though the RSX takes the form of an SUV, it’s packed with sporty coupe inspirations in the aggressive front fascia.

Acura’s RSX revival

True to Honda’s word, the RSX is, unfortunately, no longer destined to be a sporty tuner coupe like it was in the oughts; instead, it will be making its return as an all-electric crossover. Before you roll your eyes, however, Acura already has such a car in the Integra, and it just got an update.

In any case, an RSX EV promises thrilling performance in its own right. According to Acura, the model will feature dual-motor all-wheel drive, sport-tuned double-wishbone front suspension and Brembo brakes all as standard.

Front view of a yellow Acura car with sleek, narrow LED headlights and a prominent Acura logo on the hood, partially illuminated against a dark background. The car features a modern, aerodynamic design with sharp lines and a black lower grille. The front right wheel is visible with a stylish, multi-spoke rim design.
The electric age is giving many one-discontinued nameplates a new lease on life, though not always as expected.
