From afar, the watch industry may seem unhurried. But every passing day brings about new timepieces from brands big, small, new and old.
Below, find the most notable new releases from Seiko, Casio and others. Together, they show an industry that never stops ticking — and, centuries later, can still find the time to surprise you.
Best New Gear: This article is part of an ongoing series collecting the most important new watches, gadgets, pocket knives and more. Catch up on other releases.
Breitling and Wempe created this tribute to the watch astronaut Scott Carpenter wore as the first Swiss watch in space back in 1962, adding a uniform green dial with rose gold-plated hands and Old Radium Super-LumiNova to create a unique aesthetic.
Seiko
Seiko 5 Sports x Bamford Watch Department Limited Edition
Seiko teamed up with Bamford Watch Department for this wild, retro-futuristic take on the popular Seiko 5 Sports SKX Series. The watch features a translucent blue dial, details borrowed from vintage 1960s and ’80s Seiko divers, and neon accents throughout that glow under a blacklight.
Jaeger-LeCoultre
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Calendar 2025
JLC used its extensive back catalog for inspiration in creating this limited-edition version of the brand’s modern Master Control Calendar. The watch features an all-new textured, two-tone dial that completely transforms the model’s aesthetic, adding far more dynamism and visual interest. The inner portion of the grain-textured dial is light gray, while the outer portion is dark gray, and it’s meant to evoke the brand’s sector-dial triple calendars of the 1940s. Still powering the watch is the in-house Cal. 866 movement, which features a clever trick where the date hand jumps from 15 to 16 so as not to obscure the moonphase display at 6:00. The stainless steel watch is limited to 500 pieces.
Jack Mason
Jack Mason Pursuit Pro
Jack Mason debuts its most dedicated tool watch yet with the Pursuit Pro, which features a rugged ceramic countdown bezel, anti-scratch coating on its stainless steel case and brightly glowing Lumicast indices.
Seiko
Seiko Prospex Speedtimer ‘Motoring’
Seiko’s vintage-inspired, limited-edition spin on its popular Speedtimer chronograph is an excellent daily driver thanks to its striking retro looks, solar-powered quartz movement, 39mm case size and 100m of water resistance. The only downside? It’s only available in Europe.
Unimatic
Unimatic Modello Due U2-JDM
The indie Italian watchmaker with a cult following has released its first Japanese Domestic Market (hence, JDM in the title) exclusive watch. It puts a simple yet alluring twist on the Modello Due field watch: a California dial. Besides the dot indices being replaced with Roman Numerals up top and Arabic Numerals below, the watch is identical to the standard-issue U2 Classic. Complicating acquisition further is the limited edition run of only 100 pieces. It’s safe to say this will be one of the hottest Unimatic references on the secondhand market in a long time.
G-Shock
G-Shock G-Squad GBD-200-1A1JF
What if G-Shock took its original watch, the 5000 Series, and turned it into a genuine Timex Ironman competitor? Well, it would probably look (and function) just like this watch. With a resin case (complete with signature shock-resistant housing) and integrated band, this timepiece is just as tough as its brethren. However, it has some sneaky, comprehensive, athlete-focused functionality, like distance tracking (with smartphone GPS syncing), an onboard accelerometer, calorie tracking and so much more.
Hublot
Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon 5-Day Power Reserve Colored Ceramic
Hublot massively expands one of its most impressive watch collections by introducing colored ceramics to the Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon 5-Day Power Reserve. The extreme sports watch, which is powered by the brand’s manual-winding, skeletonized in-house Cal. HUB6020 movement boasting a tourbillon and at least 115 hours of power when fully wound, had previously only been available in carbon or white ceramic, but now Hublot has tripled the available options by introducing four new ceramic versions in Yellow Magic, Red Magic, Black Magic and Sky Blue.
Longines
Longines Spirit Pilot
Mere months after revitalizing the Spirit collection with a new Zulu GMT, Longines expands it with the 38mm, time-only Spirit Pilot. The distinctive Spirit dial is cleaned up by removing the five-star emblem and any additional complications. It is only available in the collection’s signature black dial with gilded detailing, but that’s the only color you’ll ever need. Variety is offered in the form of three quick-release strap options: a brown leather strap with white stitching and a steel folding clasp, an olive green rubber strap with a faux woven texture and a steel three-link bracelet. It is powered by the in-house caliber L888.4 automatic movement with a 72-hour power reserve.
Marathon Watch
Marathon OSAR-D 36mm
Marathon rounded out its most adored dive watch collection, the OSAR-D Type I, with an increasingly sought-after 36mm case size. It is a scaled-down version of the 41mm version, which is almost indistinguishable unless compared side-by-side or worn on the wrist. It is available in the same original black and Arctic white dial options, powered by the same Sellita caliber SW200-1 automatic movement and it comes on a steel three-link bracelet or black rubber pin-buckle strap.
Norqain
Norqain Wild One Skeleton 42mm Purple LE
Norqain continues its pursuit of mastering every color in its flagship Wild One Skeleton line, this time outfitting the original 42mm version of the watch in a striking purple shade. Dark purple is used for the case’s rubber shock absorber and integrated rubber strap, while a lighter shade of purple lume accents the hands and indices. The purple looks fantastic when paired with the black Norteq carbon composite case, and Norqain took the extra step of finishing the skeletonized movement in ruthenium black for even better visual cohesion, a treatment we’ve seen on other limited-edition versions of the Wild One Skeleton in the past. Speaking of which, this purple edition is limited to 400 pieces.
H. Moser & Cie.
H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Pierre Gasly
Moser’s collaboration with its first-ever ambassador, F1 driver Pierre Gasly, is far from your typical motorsports watch. It features a red gold case with a unique Chocolate Fumé dial and a double-hairspring tourbillon along with an integrated Chocolate rubber strap to match the dial.
Casio
Casio SAN-100H
Released in limited numbers at the end of 2024, Casio’s sauna watch is back with a handful of purpose-built features that make it one of the brand’s most resilient timepieces ever. These include a special resin case and battery that can stand up to the extreme temperatures found in spas, as well as spiral band inspired by traditional locker keys.
Orient
Orient Stretto
Orient adds a beautiful new all-purpose time-and-date model to its lineup of ridiculously affordable automatic watches. The elliptical case is reminiscent of Seiko designs from the 1960s and 1970s, a fact magnified by the 38mm case size. The dial is more modern with chamfered, trapezoidal applied indices joined by concentric rings leading to a 60-dash track. It runs on the in-house caliber F6722 automatic movement with hand-winding capability and a 40-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback.
G-Shock
G-Shock 5000 Series Full Metal GMW-B5000BT-1JF
How do you make a classic 5000 Series G-Shock even tougher? Give it a full-metal makeover. But with so many existing full metal models, that makes new releases difficult to stand out. Well, the Japanese Casio sub-brand managed anyhow with this latest launch, which gives the classic steel-cased option a monochromatic makeover with a killer negative digital display. It’s also solar-powered and boasts the same extensive list of complications as always.
Audemars Piguet
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Chronograph RD#5 150th Anniversary
Arguably the ultimate Royal Oak, this 150th-Anniversary limited edition from AP’s Research & Development series combines a flyback chronograph and flying tourbillon inside a standard 39mm x 8.1mm “Jumbo” Extra-Thin case. The development of the Cal. 8001 movement that makes such a feat possible took five years and required numerous patents.
Glashütte Original
Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar Anniversary Edition
Glashütte Original celebrates 180 years of watchmaking in its tiny German hometown with this stunning rendition of one of its most recognizable models. This platinum-cased take on the PanoMaticLunar is, somewhat shockingly, the first Glashütte Original watch to ever feature an aventurine dial. As it turns out, the dark blue, copper-flecked glass is the perfect starry backdrop for the watch’s trademark asymmetric dial and moonphase complication, and it might just make for the coolest-ever version of an already very cool watch.
Breitling
Breitling Lady Premier Automatic 36
Making its debut under Breitling’s Premier line, the renowned Swiss watchmaker’s first women’s collection since 2023 puts a fresh spin on the brand’s Premier Fantasies models, which date back to the 1940s. Blending archival references with modern aesthetics, the 36mm automatic models feature contoured cases, dazzling dials and matching alligator straps. Four variants are available: Aubergine, Sage and Dove Grey, plus an 18k gold version with a Chocolate strap. (For those seeking a slightly smaller option, the collection also includes three 32mm SuperQuartz models with a new tapered seven-row Chevron bracelet, starting at $5,000.)
Timex
Timex x Pan Am Waterbury Automatic Ace
Timex’s Waterbury Automatic Ace was already an outstanding, budget-friendly alternative to IWC’s legendary Pilot’s Watch. But now it gets a boost thanks to styling borrowed from Pan Am, the airline darling of the golden age of travel. Functionally the same as its predecessor, this one boasts a blue dial, airplane icon at the 12 o’clock position and a Pan Am-branded exhibition caseback. It also features a strap with a debossed airplane icon that matches the one on the dial.
Timex
Timex x Pan Am Waterbury Ace Chronograph
The first variant of Timex’s Waterbury Ace Chronograph, this affordable chrono combines its IWC-like form with styling pulled right out of the golden age of air travel. Functionally, the watch remains the same, but it gets a boost to styling with Pan Am’s signature colors, logo and an airplane icon at the 12 o’clock position. Like its siblings, its also highly affordable.
Nomos Glashütte
Nomos Glashütte Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer
Nomos adds a trio of references to its excellent 2025 Worldtimer with the Night Navigation series, with each reference featuring a black dial combined with colored accents that take inspiration from different sights associated with travel after dark.
Hamilton
Call of Duty x Hamilton Special Edition Khaki Field Auto
As ridiculous as the Call of Duty video game franchise has gotten over the years, the appearance of Hamilton’s Khaki field watch has remained a realistic constant. Now, the brand’s have teamed up to turn that on its head with a special-edition release of Black Ops 7‘s in-game timepiece. Affordably priced and easy on the eyes (thanks to limited branding), this sturdy automatic watch is a testament to its heritage, and one of the better pop-culture crossovers in recent years.
Brew Watches
Brew Metric Digital Blend
In this clever twist on 1980s ana-digi watches, Brew incorporates a custom 30-second espresso timer into the watch’s digital LED screen, complete with a percolating coffee cup animation when the timer finishes.
Benjamin James
Benjamin James Scarifour Stone Dial
British boutique watchmaker Benjamin James updates its signature Scarifour integrated steel sports watch with a trio of stone dials. The two-hand mechanical dial comes in speckled blue lapis lazuli, burnt orange agate and textured green jade. This version of the Scarifour is only available with a Sellita caliber SW210-1b hand-wound movement. It comes on a steel bracelet with a butterfly folding clasp. Each reference is limited to 100 pieces.
Czapek
Czapek Antarctique Mount Erebus Rare Stones
Czapek adds to its solid gold Mount Erebus line of Antarctique integrated sports watches with the Rare Stones collection, featuring a trio of authentic stone dials. Two rose gold versions of the watch are available with dials made from lapis lazuli or falcon eye quartz, while a third model in yellow gold comes with a lacquered green Gibeon meteorite dial. The meteorite version was limited to just 8 pieces and has already sold out, but the lapis and falon eye models are each limited to 10 pieces and are available to pre-order, with prices ranging from $47,900 for the falcon eye on an integrated leather strap to $89,700 for the lapis version on a full rose gold bracelet.
Orient Star
Orient Star M45 F8 Mechanical Moon Phase Hand Winding
Orient Star’s stunning manually wound moonphase dress watch debuts a new movement with a silicon escape wheel for heightened durability and magnetic resistance.
Morgan Motor Company
Unimatic U4-GMT-MMC
Unimatic renewed its partnership with the renowned British car manufacturer Morgan Motor Company for a sleek, minimalist GMT watch. The 40mm brushed steel case has a large fixed bezel with an etched 24-hour track starting at “00.” The radiant dial is Morgan’s signature British Blue, and it comes with two quick-release leather pin-buckle straps, British Blue and Biscuit pebble-grain, matching the brand’s upholstery. It is powered by a Seiko-made caliber NH34A automatic movement with a modest 41-hour power reserve, and the case has a 300m water resistance. Only 100 pieces are available.

Sixty years ago, four Japanese sartorial enthusiasts released a book that has become divine scripture among American style enthusiasts.
Take Ivy contains photos of students on American college campuses taken between 1959 and 1965, along with accompanying essays by Paul Hasegawa, Teruyoshi Hayashida, Shosuke Ishizu, and Toshiyuki Kurosu. It is a snapshot of the style of the well-heeled American youth during the transitional period after WWII, a style we’ve latched onto ever since as prep or ivy or any number of terms.
J.Crew partnered with ’47 to piggyback on their NCAA license. J.Crew
Through multiple generations of CEOs and creative directors, J.Crew has been informed by Take Ivy more than any other tome, even displaying copies in stores over the years.
The latest bucket pulled from that well is the brand’s first-ever officially licensed collection of collegiate apparel. It is a collaboration of ’47 as an easy and economical way to access NCAA licensing.
The marketing campaign behind the collection unabashedly reproduces Take Ivy imagery through a slightly modernized lens.
Dubbed the Campus Capsule, it consists of a pure Shetland wool baseball cap with a leather adjustable strap and a shaggy wool crewneck sweater. Both pieces are emblazoned with the colors and logos of ten American universities.

However, I’ve always found that it defies categorization because it also boasts 300m water resistance thanks to its burly 12.7mm thick stainless steel case, screw-down crown, solid steel caseback and 2.7mm thick sapphire crystal.
As mentioned above, the dial is rooted in dive watch history, both on the standard U2 Classic and the U2-JDM. Of course, it has a featureless steel bezel, which cuts out half the functionality of a diver.
The U2-JDM comes on a black nylon two-piece strap with a steel pin-buckle. Unimatic
For military and dive watch nerds like myself, the U2-JDM is a fascinating proposition. It is also objectively cool and has broad appeal for even the most casual watch fans. The only issue for us Americans, or anyone living outside of Japan, is getting our hands on one.
The fact of the matter is that anyone reading this article will almost certainly have to turn to the second-hand market to land this awesome watch. Its face value is ¥154,000, which is currently trading for $1,044. Happy hunting, my friends!

In the early 1980s, law enforcement sought out Spyderco, requesting that the brand build a folding knife that was slim, easy to carry, one-hand operable and high-performance. Sal Glesser’s outfit obliged, producing the brand’s Police model — one of its longest-running folders still in production.
However, the brand decided not to keep the knife a law enforcement-only offering, opening it up to the public, much to the joy of knife fanatics and collectors everywhere.
While it boasts a much slimmer profile than some of its siblings, this knife still features the Spyderco hallmarks.Spyderco
Baby blue
The banner feature of this knife — the part that grants it the “Lightweight” in its name — is its handle. On the standard Police model, the knife features stainless steel scales.
In this version, those scales have been replaced with FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon) ones — the same material used for all of Spyderco’s Lightweight models. That brings the weight down significantly from 5.4 ounces to 4.2 — a 1.2-ounce decrease (which, in EDC terms, is quite a bit). Thats also helped by its skeletonized steel liners.

One of the most exciting and popular Seiko releases of the past few years has been the brand’s solar-powered Speedtimer line of chronographs.
First introduced in the fall of 2021, the Prospex Solar Speedtimer instantly became a fan-favorite for its combination of a wearable 39mm case size, a laundry list of specs including a sapphire crystal, Lumibrite lume and 100m of water resistance, and a Rolex Daytona-adjacent design, all for an ultra-competitive sub-$1,000 price tag.
One reference in particular has become something of a modern classic. The reference SSC813 has been given the nickname “Seitona” due to its resemblance to the modern Rolex Daytona “Panda,” a result of the watch’s stark-white dial, thick black tachymeter bezel and black subdials.
Now, the Seitona has some competition in Seiko’s Solar Speedtimer lineup, as the Japanese brand has debuted a new version of the chronograph that looks a whole lot like a vintage Rolex Daytona Panda.
Seiko adds a new “Seitona” to its Speedtimer lineup, this one with a vintage feel.Seiko
Seitona, circa 1969
Seiko’s new chronograph is the Prospex Speedtimer ‘Motoring,’ and while it’s largely the same watch as the SSC813 “Seitona” and other Solar Speedtimers, it has some unique touches, too.
First, let’s talk about the design. Like the Seitona, it has a panda dial, but it’s a decidedly more retro one. Instead of going with contemporary, optic white for the dial like the SSC813, the ‘Motoring’ opts for a cream-colored dial that gives the watch an aged look. The chronograph registers remain black, and the date wheel is now black as well, adding a bit more character to the dial.

When it comes to G-Shock, none of the brand’s watches come anywhere close to being as iconic as the 5000/5600 Series. After all, the octagonal timepiece is the brand’s original launch.
However, they’re not what anyone would call the brand’s most athletic of offerings. While they’re typically quite capable and tough, they often lack the fitness-focused features of some other noteworthy digital watches, like Timex’s Ironman series.
However, the G-Shock G-Squad GBD-200-1A1JF might be the perfect middle ground, mixing the brand’s original styling with sportier elements and an altogether more comprehensive set of athletic complications.
G-Shock’s signature original octagonal face gets a bit sportier in this redux.G-Shock
Hulk buster
With so many of G-Shock’s more athletic-focused watches, the brand has embraced big, chunky styles. That has, admittedly, been a significant barrier for ownership — 55+ millimeter cases are huge, even on beefier wrists.
This one isn’t exactly small, measuring 45.9 millimeters wide, but it’s a whole 10 millimeters smaller than the starting point of most Master of G watches. That makes it way more manageable to wear regularly for the average person.

With their all-black upper (including the logo) and brass eyelets, these are some of the best-looking Chucks of the last year (or perhaps longer). However, solid styling isn’t all they have to offer. They also feature a heavy-duty upper paired with a faux fur-lined interior, making these a sneakily rugged and capable cold-weather footwear option. Even the tongue and collar are padded for extra comfort, and they feature OrthoLite underfoot cushioning for light, impact-absorbing comfort. As if that’s not enough, they’re also quite affordable.
Encor Series 1 Lotus Esprit
50 years after the debut of the Lotus Esprit, a British automotive upstart by the name of Encor is building a series of 50 limited-run restomods based on the Series 1. Refined with a full carbon fiber body, enhanced aerodynamics and a refreshed V8 engine, each example will also boast modern creature comforts such as Apple CarPlay, LED lighting and climate control. They’ll be priced at £430,000.
Priority Bicycles
Priority Vanth Full Suspension Enduro
The belt drive bicycle kings take things to another level with this ambitious MTB, which is still shrouded in mystery. What we do know is that it’s powered by the patent-pending Stillpoint High Pivot Platform, which features suspension points positioned along a hitherto unattainable line, providing, Priority says, unprecedented control, stability and speed. Meanwhile, the Pinion gearbox teams with the Gates Belt Drive for smooth power transfer without the fuss of chains or even a derailleur. Named for a winged underworld spirit from Etruscan mythology, the Vanth launches on Halloween, but you can sign up now for updates along the way.
Ciele
Ciele VLVHalfzip – Nite Rite
Stay visible on dusk and dawn runs with Ciele’s hard-working new reflective sweatshirt, part of its Nite Rite Collection. Built with a cozy combination of diamond grid recycled polyester pile fleece matched with embedded carbon, the VLVHalfzip brings temperature control, breathability and warmth to another level. Reflective details in various strategic positions across the back and sides are the literal star of the show, illuminating runners in low-light conditions. The half-zip allows for venting and versatility, while a large side pocket, internal phone pocket and oversized cuffs add functionality and utility to the equation.

Google redesigned it both inside and out so that it looks very similar to Apple’s HomePod mini, thanks to its rounded design and 3D knit fabric covering, and improved its 360-degree sound. Most notably, the speaker is integrated with Gemini for Home and a new service (Google Home Premium) that’s powered by Google’s Gemini AI. This means that, in a nutshell, the smart assistant should be way more conversational (and smart) than Apple’s Siri. The speaker will come in four different colors (Jade, Berry, Porcelain, and Haze), but you’ll have to wait to buy — it won’t be available until “spring 2026.”

October 3, 2025 / Comments Off on Converse’s New Chucks Pair Subtle Style with Rugged Cold-Weather Comfort
Most things in human culture are cyclical, especially regarding style and watches.
A prevailing trend in 2025 has been the rise of smaller case sizes, on par with those of the 1950s through the early 1970s. Dress watches have led the way, but field and dive watches are catching up.
The 36mm OSAR-D is simply a scaled-down version of the original 41mm. Marathon Watch
Marathon has met the changing, or rather, the regressing, times by releasing the OSAR-D (Original Search and Rescue – Date) dive watch in a 36mm case size. It is available with the original black dial and the Arctic dial released earlier this year.
While the Canadian watchmaker has produced plenty of 36mm watches before, the OSAR-D makes the most sense in that size. Even though it was introduced in the early 2000s, it is modeled after classic dive watches from the late 1950s and early 1960s, when most cases measured less than 40mm.
The black dial has the same red-tipped seconds hand from the 41mm OSAR-D reissue. Marathon Watch
The alternating geometric indices, obelisk hands and dash minutes track are reminiscent of vintage Seiko and Rolex designs.
From a pricing standpoint, Marathon lands closer to the former than the latter. The Canadian watchmaker makes some of the most robust dive watches available in the $2,000 range, and the OSAR-D retains its 300m water resistance in the compact 36mm package.
October 3, 2025 / Comments Off on A Fan-Favorite Military Dive Watch Adds a Crowd-Pleasing New Case Size to the Lineup
Longines always punches above its weight class when it comes to the quality of its watches, but the new Spirit Pilot Flyback feels particularly elevated. I previously reviewed the Blancpain Air Command, a similarly styled flyback chronograph from the Swatch Group that costs four times as much as this Longines. And while the Blancpain is obviously a nicer watch, that gap between it and the Longines doesn’t feel anywhere near that big.
The Spirit Pilot Flyback’s finishing is excellent all around. The brushing is even and beautiful, and all transitions between different areas of finishing are flawless to my eye. The watch looks and feels expensive, and while it technically is at $5,500, in the insane world of luxury watches, it’s almost comically affordable for what it is.
The finishing is impeccable, even if I would’ve preferred vertical brushing on the lugs to match the bracelet.Photo by Johnny Brayson for Gear Patrol
The bracelet is also quite nice, and feels a bit like a cross between the old and new Omega Speedmaster bracelets — it looks like the old bracelet but feels and acts more like the new one. It’s a three-link setup with large, rounded center links flanked by smaller links on either side, and all links are vertically brushed with polished chamfers where they meet. It’s toolish but fancy, suiting the vibe of the watch, and it feels great on the wrist.
It does have a male end link, but that didn’t affect the fit at all on my 6.5-inch wrist, as I found it draped nicely and also had a pleasing taper. The clasp is excellent, too, with a dual-trigger release, polished chamfers and an applied winged hourglass logo.
There’s also a toolless microadjustment system built into the clasp, which the old Spirit Flyback lacked. It only has three steps of travel, so I wouldn’t mind seeing a little more, but it feels so well-machined and is such a tactile joy to use that I found myself playing with it just for the fun of it.

While the bags vary in some significant ways, they do both share a few noteworthy similarities. For starters, they both boast the same rugged, reliable external fabric: 500D Cordura nylon. This is the same fabric trusted by everyone from The North Face to the U.S. Military, so it’s a material you can certainly trust in an EDC context.
The bags also have YKK zippers with classic outdoor-inspired zipper pulls, mil-spec hardware and webbing, and more. Interestingly, one of the big additions — useful for daily commuters and frequent flyers alike — is that both bags have laptop (or tablet) compartments.
Outdoor-borne details help elevate these packs, while their overall silhouettes are more urbane and refined.Kifaru

Now, for the differences. Firstly, their sizing is quite distinct. The Checkpoint, which is larger as a base bag, can hold up to 27.8 liters — and it meets TSA carry-on requirements. The base Echo is smaller, offering 21.79 liters (which is also TSA-compliant.)
However, the Echo also has an expandable compartment, which grants it an additional 8.19 liters, bringing it to a total of 29.98 liters, making it a couple of liters larger than the Checkpoint. However, the Checkpoint also has another little secret.
October 2, 2025 / Comments Off on A Pioneering Outdoor Brand Finally Expands Its Expertise to the World of EDC Bags
In 2009, a group of movie producers, disillusioned by the industry landscape, decided to take a wildly different route. Together, they founded Aether, a gear and apparel brand inspired by adventure, exploration and spontaneity.
Since then, the brand has become a cult-hit, especially in the realms of motorcycling and winter sports. Now, in 2025, the brand has never been stronger or more dedicated to its original aims. In fact, it’s expanding upon its promise and premise.
The latest addition to that journey is the Aether Fall 2025 Boot Collection, a group of five stylish and durable silhouettes designed to last a lifetime, no matter where or how far your travels might take you.
This new boot collection includes five silhouettes — three men’s styles and two women’s.Aether
I would walk 500 miles…
Aether has made boots before, and they’ve honestly been very solid. But this new collection has one major difference that elevates these new offerings far beyond what the brand has previously produced.
These are the first-ever Aether boots to feature a Goodyear welt construction. For those unfamiliar with the technique, this is a boot-building method that enables footwear to be more easily resoled. Once the outsole wears down, it can be removed and replaced, maintaining the integrity of the boot’s upper.

The renowned premium knife maker spares no expense with this $655 prototype, which boasts a 3.78-inch drop-point, mirror-finished Bohler M390 blade. The handle is just as audacious, if not more so, courtesy of Timascus, a titanium Damascus fusion that extends even to the tip-up right-carry pocket clip. (There’s also a $350 variant with a more traditional titanium handle.) Deployment comes via a rear flipper, secured with a sturdy frame lock. This knife is not available yet, but you can sign up to be notified when it is.
Casio
Casio Ring Watch CRW-001G-9JR
Recently, Casio launched a silver ring watch to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary. It sold out almost immediately. Now, the brand has brought that watch back again, this time in a lustrous gold finish. Using MIM (metal injection molding), this all-metal watch is precision-crafted — a nearly exact scaled-down replica of the brand’s standard-sized offering. And it’s actually functional, boasting a minuscule quartz movement and digital display. There’s just one catch: you’ll have to enter a raffle for a chance to get one and, at least for now, it’s only available through the Japanese site.
Rev’It
Rev’It x Pol Tarrės Collection
Rev’It has collaborated with world-class enduro rider Pol Tarrės on a collection of rugged ADV motorcycle gear designed for the toughest of environments. Along with a series of jackets and outer layers, it includes pants, gloves and even some base options. All shod in various shades of sand, orange and black, the collection features multiple references to the Spaniard’s racing number 13.
Nest
Nest Cam Indoor (3rd-Gen) and Outdoor (2nd-Gen)
Google has introduced updated versions of its Nest Indoor and Outdoor smart home cameras. Both have the same design as their predecessors, but are now available in new color options. The big upgrade is that each supports a higher resolution picture (now 2K HDR) with a wider field of view. They also have a new cropping feature that zooms in on whatever prompted the alert (be it a person or a pet). Additionally, these cameras come with twice as much storage for free video clips — the 10-second motion-activated clips can be viewed for up to 6 hours after they were recorded, instead of three.
Nest
Nest Doorbell (3rd Gen)
Google’s third-generation video doorbell looks much like its 2022-released predecessor, but the new model has an upgraded lens and sensor, allowing it to record 2K HDR video for the first time and have a wider field of view. It also has a convenient new zooming feature where, if there’s a motion-activated alert, the camera will zoom in on the subject (person or animal) that triggered the alert. It costs $180, just like before, and is available now.
Huckberry
Flint and Tinder Flannel-Lined Sashiko Trucker Jacket
Flint and Tinder’s Waxed Trucker became an unexpected hit in the late 2010s, then went viral after its appearance in The Last of US. The Huckberry-owned brand has done an excellent job of elaborating on its flagship product without messing with success. The newest iteration ditches dry waxed canvas in favor of a burly yet beautiful Japanese sashiko knit canvas. The fabric is yarn-dyed indigo, which will develop complex fade textures based on wear. It is lined with the same polyester blanket stripe flannel familiar from the Waxed Trucker, and assembled entirely in Los Angeles.

Crucially, the Stretto also follows the Tsuyosa’s perfectly proportioned case size, measuring one millimeter wider at 38mm. While this size isn’t for everyone, it casts the widest net in today’s market.
As part of Orient’s 75th Anniversary Collection, the Stratto also comes in three limited edition references with matching gray-blue radial brushed dials and red seconds hands.
Along with the standard time-and-date dial arrangement, there is a day-date borrowed from the Bambino collection and an open-heart dial. All three watches should be available in America later this year.
The Stretto 75th Anniversary Collection features three references with gray-blue dials and the script logo.Orient
My first impression of the Stretto was that it looked so familiar, but in a good way. Orient occasionally offers wild and inventive designs, but the brand’s true strength is reinterpreting tried-and-true watches that absolutely anyone can afford.
The Stretto pulls that off as effectively as any design in the brand’s catalog.

The pushers were inspired by the haptic buttons on a smartphone and are practically touch-sensitive. While typical chronograph pushers require 1mm of travel and 1.5kg of pressure to activate, the RD#5’s pushers travel just 0.3mm and need only 300 grams of force to get going.
This not only allows for a more compact movement but also an enhanced user experience. In addition, the brand came up with an entirely new chronograph reset mechanism as well, replacing the hammer and heart piece found in virtually every other chronograph with a patented new rack-and-pinion system that stores and releases energy when needed, eliminating the need for a friction spring.
Despite its groundbreaking nature, the chronograph also features all of the typical goodies collectors covet, including a vertical clutch, column wheel and jumping minutes — the latter a feature rarely seen on any Royal Oak Chronograph.
The watch boasts a titanium bracelet and case with certain elements in Bulk Metal Glass with a mirror-polished finish.Audemars Piguet
The crown is equally revolutionary, as AP has done away with the standard push-pull crown found on nearly every other watch for an innovative design that allows you to select between setting and winding modes by pressing a button that’s integrated into the crown, saving some more room inside the movement.
Oh, and lest we forget, this thing also has a tourbillon. And not just any tourbillon, but the high amplitude flying tourbillon that debuted in the Royal Oak RD#3 in 2022. It’s been redesigned to be thinner, and AP even developed a brand-new escapement for it that is more precise, more energy-efficient and lighter.

For reference, this isn’t the first time Benchmade has utilized a slipjoint. Back in 2018, the brand launched the Proper, which was a more traditional take on a slipjoint folder.
However, this one eschews traditional styling, adopting a more forward-thinking design that’s both elevated and unique. As such, this knife transcends its traditional inspiration, becoming a gentleman’s knife for a new age.
The Successor boasts a sturdy, lightweight aluminum handle and a Böhler M380 super steel blade.Benchmade
Lookin’ sharp
That interesting choice of non-locking mechanism aside, there’s still plenty to love about this knife. It’s a relatively small folder, measuring only 6.26 inches total and having a highly slender body and blade.
However, it packs a punch where it counts, too. The slim drop point blade, for instance, is made from versatile, dependable Böhler M390 super steel — second only in overall hype to MagnaCut.

Amazon
Amazon Echo Studio and Echo Dot Max (2025)
Amazon announced two new smart speakers at its big hardware event this year: the Echo Studio and the Echo Dot Max. The Echo Studio, which has been Amazon’s biggest and beefiest speaker for several years, has been completely redesigned with a new look and new drivers; it’s also roughly 40 percent smaller than its predecessor. The Echo Dot Max shares a similar new design, featuring a 3D knit fabric and a front-facing light ring with on-device controls, but it is roughly half the size of the new Echo Studio.
Pabst Blue Ribbon
Pabst Blue Ribbon x Godzilla 70th Anniversary Collaboration
It’s Big G’s 70th birthday this year. To celebrate this kaiju-sized anniversary, Toho and Pabst Blue Ribbon have collaborated on a collection of specialty Godzilla-themed beer cans and cases. The collection spans both 12-ounce cans — which feature Godzilla artwork from Cuban-American artist Attack Peter — and 25-ounce ones — with art also featuring Godzilla, alongside a trio of the giant lizard’s contemporaries (Mechagodzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah). They should be hitting shelves in stores near you anytime now.
Oura
Oura Ring 4 Ceramic
The newest entry to Oura’s lineup of wearables is a head-turner, thanks to its eye-catching new material. Constructed with high-performance zirconia ceramic, which takes well to color, the new Ring 4 Ceramic is now available in four intriguing hues: “Petal,” “Tide,” “Cloud” and “Midnight.” Aside from its aesthetic enhancements, the Ring 4 Ceramic also features a new charging system that allows wearers to switch between rings, without losing any data. At $499 each, it’s hard to imagine buying multiple colors, but the capability to switch with ease is convenient for those who will partake.
Buck Mason
Lee x Buck Mason Westerner Shirt
Lee and Buck Mason get the band back together for a collection of 1960s-era western wear. The trucker jacket from the first collaboration is back in creamy white and black 100-percent cotton 11.5-ounce Japanese sateen. However, the new Westerner shirt steals the show with sawtooth pockets, front and back shoulder yokes and diamond-shaped metal snaps fitted with round mother-of-pearl inserts. It is also made of 100-percent cotton Japanese sateen with a coarse exterior and silky-smooth interior. The shirt is available in black, off-white and taupe.
Made In
Tom Colicchio x Made In Roasting Pan
Designed in collaboration with esteemed chef Tom Colicchio, this carbon steel Made In roasting pan is naturally non-stick without the use of PFAS. It can fit a 12-pound turkey, features high walls for even browning and comes rated for 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. Like other Tom Colicchio-driven cookware from Made In, its brass hardware will only look better with age and use.

October 1, 2025 / Comments Off on This German Watchmaker’s Coolest Watch Somehow Got Even Cooler
From the 1950s through the 1970s, Pan Am, the now-defunct airline, was the darling of the passenger air travel industry. The brand’s exceptional midcentury styling was so impactful that it remains a go-to design example to this day.
Now, a new pilot’s watch collaboration has been unveiled, showcasing the airline’s timelessness (pun intended) on a pair of stunning, affordable timepieces. For anyone pining for the golden age of travel, the Timex x Pan Am Waterbury Ace Collection — which includes the Waterbury Ace Chronograph and Waterbury Automatic Ace — is sure to be a hit.
The collection comprises the Waterbury Ace Chronograph (left) and Waterbury Automatic Ace (right).Timex
High-flying ace
This isn’t the first time Timex and Pan Am have teamed up. The last time was toward the tail-end of 2024 (almost exactly a calendar year ago.) However, when comparing the latest collaboration with the previous one, there are some noteworthy differences.
Aesthetically, this new pair of timepieces is a lot more refined. For instance, they both feature an airplane silhouette at the 12 o’clock position, which is a nice stylistic touch missing in the last collab.
Furthermore, while they still boast Pan Am’s signature coloring and the airline’s logo above the 6 o’clock marker, these new drops are notably less busy.

The watch debuted at Watches and Wonders in Geneva back in April, which is where I originally went hands-on with it and was left thoroughly impressed. Debuting a new movement, the in-house Calibre DUW 3202, the watch is a clever twist on the worldtimer format.
Pressing the pusher at 2:00 simultaneously rotates the city-adorned inner bezel and jumps the local hour hand to match the time of the city displayed at 12:00 when traveling, while a 24-hour subdial keeps track of the time back home.
Nomos’s excellent Worldtimer is now available in three cool new colors.Nomos Glashütte
It’s both a highly practical and useful travel watch and the ultimate wrist-worn fidget toy, as clicking that pusher is the highest form of tactile entertainment for watch nerds like me. As the cherry on top, the watch is also great-looking, and Nomos debuted several fun colorways at launch.
All of the really cool colors were limited editions that have long since sold out, but now Nomos is revisiting its most impressive watch in years with a trio of new limited-edition colorways for the Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer — and they arguably represent the best-looking versions of the watch yet.

The inside is lined with leather, and the insole is leather, allowing it to mold to the owner’s foot as the sneaker breaks in, like a quality boot.
Most importantly, the extra thickness of the leather panels on the upper and the enhanced density of the rubber sole mean this sneaker will hold up far longer than a standard Superstar.
The Superstar Vintage MiG comes with a leather keychain. Adidas
Adidas is offering something better than happening upon old dead stock Superstars because this premium build actually surpasses the original.
Even though it was released in the 1970s and became iconic in the 1980s, the Superstar still looks better than most sneakers on the market today. Like Rev Run said, “We make a mean team, my Adidas and me.”

While the original came with numerous handle material options — wood, PEI, G10 and aluminum — this new version has only one option: acrylic. However, it retains its signature coffin shape.
Similarly, it maintains its button lock and front flipper deployment. Not to mention, the blade is still crafted from Nitro-V steel — an affordable yet reliable and easy-to-maintain option.
The Nitro-V blade has the phrase “Trick or treat?” printed on one side and a skull icon on the other.Kizer
A bone to pick
One of the things that made the original Tomb special was its skeletonized liners. And when I say skeletonized, I mean it both literally and figuratively — they have material cut out of them in the shape of a human skeleton.
This new version retains that same structure; however, it has a fun little addition: this time, it glows in the dark. And since the handle scales are made of transparent acrylic, you can see the glow right through the handle.
