What is Amazon Prime Day? Like the holidays, Super Bowl, Thanksgiving and a middling Dwayne Johnson movie, Amazon Prime Day comes but once a year. Akin to Black Friday, Prime Day offers an opportunity to save copious amounts of money on products you’ve been coveting all year — there is a massive number of deals to be had. So many, in fact, that sifting through them alone would be nearly impossible for one person — by the time you find a good deal, there’s a good chance it will be sold out. We’ll be publishing the best deals we find all throughout Prime Day 2018, in real-time. So bookmark this page — it’s gonna be great.

When is Prime Day? Monday, July 16, starting at 12pm PT/3pm ET. It runs through Tuesday, July 17. So, in fact, it’s longer than a day.

You have to be an Amazon Prime member: It may sound obvious, but you must be an Amazon Prime Member in order to qualify for Prime Day deals. A full-year membership costs $119. Depending how you look at it, it’s a great deal. If you only plan on purchasing the membership for Prime Day, it probably isn’t worth it. It is, however, worth it if you plan to utilize other Prime features, like year-round free two-day shipping and Amazon’s response to Netflix, called Prime Video, or its Prime Music music streaming service. If you happen to have a .edu email address, you’re in luck: sign up for a six-month free trial plus 50 percent off of a yearly membership if you decide to buy.
