This year marks the 75th anniversary of one of the world’s most famous comic strips, Peanuts. Charles Schulz’s iconic cartoon starring lovable loser Charlie Brown made its debut on October 2, 1950, and it’s arguably just as popular as ever, even 25 years after its 50-year original run came to a close.

Also turning 75 this year is Peanuts’ most beloved and recognizable character, Snoopy. Everyone’s favorite cartoon beagle first appeared in the third strip of the series on October 4, 1950, and has since gone on to become a global icon and, somewhat unexpectedly, a horological superstar.

Today, several brands license Snoopy’s image for use on their watches, with the most notable being Omega. The Swiss luxury brand has used Snoopy on a trio of special-edition Speedmasters that celebrate the 40th, 45th and 50th anniversaries of Omega receiving NASA’s Silver Snoopy award for its pivotal role in the U.S. space program, particularly the Apollo moon missions.

Since 2025 marks 55 years since Omega’s award, the brand is widely expected to debut a new Snoopy Speedmaster. But with no sign of that happening yet, longtime Snoopy partner Timex is here to tide us over with a Snoopy anniversary watch of its own.

Timex is celebrating Snoopy’s birthday by giving the world an awesome watch.

Timex admittedly has produced a ton of Snoopy watches, but this one feels extra special.

For one, the watch in question is a Marlin Automatic. This is one of Timex’s best-looking watches, one of its most premium watches and one of its coolest watches. It’s a modernized version of a classic Timex dress watch from the 1960s with Mad Men-approved looks, and it’s got an automatic movement, which is still a rarity for Timex.
