Other Notable Sneaker Releases
Nike x Fragment Air Zoom Spiradon
Leave it to “Godfather of Harajuku” Hiroshi Fujiwara’s lauded brand Fragment to revive a classic ’90s Nike running sneaker as modern minimalist streetwear. This take on the Spiradon gets stripped down, slapped with monochrome reflective elements, accented with suede and hit some exclusive branding.
Reebok Nano X5
Reebok marks 15 years of the award-winning Nano training shoe with the announcement of the new Nano X5. Focusing on comfort without sacrificing performance, the latest edition introduces a midsole that is cushioned and responsive up front, yet firm and stable in the rear. It also offers a decoupled outsole that boosts its run-friendliness and a performance comfort collar for a fit that’s as locked in as you are.
Todd Snyder x New Balance 574L “Pine & Parchment”
Todd Snyder is getting into the holiday spirit with his latest New Balance collab. The designer has taken the classic 574 Legacy sneaker and dressed it up with a mix of clean and “hairy” suedes on the upper, the latter material adding texture and a natural appearance. Snyder drew inspiration from New York’s Flower District at Christmastime for the shoes, which are available in two colorways. The more neutral “Parchment” evokes the paper used to wrap tree trimmings, while the “Pine” takes more obvious direct inspiration from Christmas trees and wreaths. Both are only available from Todd Snyder.
Keen Jasper Zionic x Gramicci
Norda 002 Oak
Canadian running label Norda sprinted onto scene several years back with trail runners made from Dyneema — a super lightweight material that boasts 15 times the strength of the steel. Now available in a brown colorway, the 002 silhouette is for runners who prefer a more responsive ride that comes from the shoe’s low stack height.
Keen Overton Mid Work Shoe (Carbon-Fiber Toe)
From the outdoor brand’s utility division comes this throwback-styled take on a work sneaker. While it carries Air Jordan vibes, the Overton packs technical bona fides, including energy-returning cushioning, a slip-resistant outsole and carbon-fiber safety toes. Keen also offers a low-top version for both men and women ($140).
Nike Pegasus Trail 5 GTX
Like clockwork, fall means cooler temps and falling leaves. It also means that the Pegasus Trail, the off-road version of Nike’s versatile everyday trainer, gets winterized with the addition of a Gore-Tex upper. The shoe also features the brand’s responsive ReactX foam in the midsole and an all-terrain outsole.
Kane Revive AC
Kane winterized its popular recovery shoe with an enclosed upper, sewn-in thermal cuff and reflective detailing. At launch, it comes in three colorways and sizes up to men’s 14.
Altra Timp 5 GTX Roa
This new collaboration between the Utah-based cult running brand and the Ferrara, Italy-based fashion-forward hiking brand delivers the best of both worlds. Altra’s wider foot-friendly toe box and trademark Zero Drop platform combine with Roa’s layered construction approach — plus a Gore-Tex membrane and Vibram Megagrip outsole — for a sublime trail ripper that’s equally at home on city streets.
New Release
Greats The Royale Knit 2.0
Leather sneakers are a wardrobe staple but hot to wear in the dead of summer. The second generation of Greats classically shaped knit sneaker now features vegan materials and recycled plastic, making the shoe lighter, slimmer, and easy to clean with soap and water.
The Air Jordan XXXIX (39)
After initially appearing on the feet of Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero during the 2024 NBA Playoffs, among others, the latest addition to Jordan Brand’s flagship “game shoe” line is finally here. This year’s release is inspired by MJ’s cross-step and designed to provide players with the support needed to execute the game’s most effective movements. The shoe features a redesigned, full-length midsole combination of ZoomX foam and Air Zoom, a first for basketball shoes. Despite these technical chops, it’s also one of the cleanest-looking shoes in the series with minimal branding, which was very much by design. The initial all-white version will launch on July 23rd, with eight other colorways already slated for launch through 2025.
New Balance 2002R Jamal Murray
The Nuggets dream of winning back-to-back NBA titles is officially dead now, but even if you’re not a basketball fan, this Jamal Murray collab may become one of the best summer sneaker releases of the year. It’s rare to find a shoe offering New Balance’s trademark grey/greige aesthetic with a bright pop of color. The shoe is available on Footlocker now while sizes last.
Aime Leon Dore New Balance T500 Tennis Oxfords
ALD has released its latest collaboration with New Balance. In this case, the brand has elevated the T500 tennis shoe with premium white leather and navy and grey detailing. Both options look sharp and should sell quickly as distinctive summer sneaker options.
District VisionDistrict Vision x New Balance Spring 2024 Collection
District Vision and New Balance have unveiled the latest iteration of their ongoing running inspired collaboration. It includes shorts, running singlets and pull overs, as well as the DV + NB Mens Elite Race Shoe shown above.
