The waxed canvas jackets from Huckberry’s house brand have become mainstays among the Hollywood elite, not to mention dozens of Gear Patrol readers and staffers, alike.
In terms of brute popularity, the Flannel-Lined Waxed Trucker Jacket headlines the collection — you can thank its appearance in The Last of Us for that.
But another jacket called the Hudson has quietly emerged as a new classic in the making, with hundreds of five-star reviews on last year’s model alone.
Heritage styling, new updates
Now back for 2024, and with a handful of new tricks up its sleeve, the Hudson follows the form of a heritage hunting jacket, falling a little lower than the Trucker to offer extra protection in inclement weather.
A removable hood — newly added for 2024 — and warm flannel lining double down on the premise, while the moleskin-lined collar and cuffs result in a more premium jacket overall.
As for the waterproof waxed canvas, it comes from none other than Halley Stevensons, a Scottish supplier that also works with Patagonia and Mission Workshop, among other trusted brands.
Pricing and availability
The updated Flannel-Lined Waxed Hudson Jacket is available now for $368 — something of an investment but also far less than you might expect to pay with other brands (especially those that outfit British royalty).
It comes three colors — navy, forest green and chocolate brown — and a wide range of sizes up to 3XL.
