“Variety is the spice of life” may be played out, but how about “variety is the spice of bike”?
It’s hard not to think about such a thing while reviewing notable recent launches in the motorcycle world.
With the likes of BMW and Triumph flashing snazzy scramblers and roadsters and Indian coming in hot with fully loaded big-displacement rides, it has been a real high-octane smorgasbord lately.

BMW2026 BMW R 12 G/S
Inspired by the brand’s first-ever Dakar-winning motorcycle from the early 1980s, the 2026 BMW R 12 G/S is a long-awaited reimagining sure to have fans chomping at the bit to hop aboard. While its retro styling looks magnificent on the road, this is a fully capable modern off-roader. Highlights include a one-piece tubular spaceframe with a bolted-on rear frame, fully-adjustable telescoping front forks and rear shocks and a swath of modern features that make it easier and more enjoyable to ride. It’s also the first BMW off-road motorcycle with an 18-inch rear wheel option.

DucatiDucati Panigale V4 Lamborghini
The third collaboration between Ducati and Lamborghini goes far beyond a branding exercise to become perhaps the highest-performing Panigale yet. Inspired by the Lamborghini Revuelto, this limited-edition bike boasts not only a corresponding paint scheme but also a number of carbon-fiber components that lighten its weight by more than four pounds versus a traditional Panigale V4 S. Meanwhile, an Akrapovič titanium exhaust pipe with carbon end caps and a dedicated calibration of the celebrated 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine boost the total horsepower to 218.5, edging past the standard version by 2.5 ponies.
Dab MotorsDab 1αX Electric Motorcycle
Peugeot-owned Dab Motors has unveiled a scrambler-ified version of its flagship bike at Milan Design Week 2025. While the bike retains much of the original’s styling and capabilities — like 150km of range per charge, 395 NM of torque and a 125kg weight — it also gets some noteworthy upgrades that make it much more trail-capable. The biggest swap is the tires, which are now beefy Pirelli knobby tires. The bike also gets a raised carbon fiber front fender and fork protectors.

The R 1300 R packs a positively staggering array of features into a sub-$17,000 roadster. The GS-derived 1300cc boxer engine makes 145 horsepower and 110 lb-ft of torque, enabling this 527-pound beast to go 0-60 mph in just 3.25 seconds. Supporting that adrenalized acceleration are sport tires on 17-inch aluminum cast wheels, a new upside-down telescopic fork and new EVO Paralever II rear suspension. The bike also boasts a bevy of high-tech electronics including a 6.5-inch full-color TFT screen, BMW Motorrad Fully Integral ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Frontal Collision Warning (FCW) and five ride modes — Rain, Eco, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro.
Royal EnfieldRoyal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Touring Kit
The Super Meteor’s 648cc parallel-twin engine places it squarely in the middleweight cruiser division, but the bike punches well above that class thanks to nimble handling, easy acceleration and tip-to-tail good looks. Outfitting it for the long haul won’t break the bank, either. This package — including a deluxe touring seat and footpegs, large windscreen, passenger backrest and hard panniers — adds less than $1,300 to the quite reasonable $6,999 base price.
Indian Motorcycle2025 Indian Challenger Elite
This beastly bagger’s striking aesthetic is inspired by Gene “Alabama Flash” Walker, who set a land-speed record in 1920 on his Indian PowerPlus, staking his claim to being the “fastest man alive.” Beyond the tri-tone paint job and other unique touches, this bike is loaded with premium components, including an adjustable windshield, Powerband Audio system and five different Rider Assist features. Oh, and there’s plenty of get-up-and-go, courtesy of the PowerPlus 112 engine, which delivers 126 horsepower and 133 ft-lbs of torque.
Indian Motorcycle2025 Indian Pursuit Elite
A rare beast — only 250 units will be produced — the 2025 Pursuit Elite draws its aesthetic inspiration from the 1916 production of 20,000 PowerPlus motorcycles for the U.S. Army. Along with that shimmering tri-tone paint job, the bike fittingly features the recently introduced PowerPlus 112 engine, which puts out a pulse-pounding 126 horsepower and 133 ft-lbs of torque. It also boasts luxurious seating and state-of-the-art lighting, audio and safety-boosting Rider Assist tech.
