If you’re a car enthusiast who was between the ages of six and 26 in the year 2000, odds are good you have a soft spot in your heart for a very particular 1967 Shelby GT500. You know the one: billet silver with black racing stripes, a shining aftermarket grille, added foglamps tucked low in the face. It’s the car Nicolas Cage drove in the Jerry Bruckheimer remake of Gone In 60 Seconds, the one with the “Go Baby Go” nitrous button that wound up leaping like Free Willy to freedom at the climax of the film. Eleanor.

Well, if you spent many an afternoon daydreaming it was you in Nic Cage’s shoes, then you’ll definitely want to enter to win this spectacular recreation of that Gone in 60 Seconds Shelby GT500 currently on Omaze.

It may not have a helicopter-beating shot of NOS in the trunk, but in every other way, this restomod Mustang is arguably superior to both the one seen in the film and the stock ’67 GT500 (at least, by modern standards). Beneath the hood lies a supercharged version of the modern Mustang GT‘s 5.0-liter “Coyote” V8, dialed up to more than 600 horsepower and sent to the 315mm-wide rear tires through an automatic transmission. Inside, there’s Recaro bucket seats and black leather trim everywhere, with carbon fiber accents and a high-end stereo packing JL and Alpine components. It’ll even be programmed to show your name on the infotainment screen upon startup.

As if that weren’t enough reason to take a stab at winning this car, your entry fee will go towards a great cause. This Mustang is being auctioned off to help raise money for Represent Justice, a non-profit organization pushing for criminal justice reform and a fair legal system for everyone. The money you give will help in the fight to keep people of color and the poor from continuing to be disproportionately impacted by the justice system by helping advocates, building up reform organizations and providing for the safety of those currently incarcerated, including helping protect them from COVID-19. (People in jails and prisons are two and a half times more likely to be infected with the coronavirus than the general public, according to The Washington Post.)

So, to recap: help an organization fighting for some of the best, most noble causes in America today — and maybe win the Shelby Mustang you always dreamed of owning. Hard not to see that as a win/win.
