Amidst the standard CES banter about stunning TVs, quirky robots and self-driving cars, one of the coolest product announcements we’ve seen so far is a countertop appliance that offers liquid salvation. Yes, it serves beer. The LG HomeBrew appears to be the perfect device for those who love craft beer – and simplicity.

From single-use capsules, the LG HomeBrew extracts the necessary malt, yeast, hop oil and flavoring. All you’ll need to do is supply water, choose one of the five available flavors (golden American Pale Ale, hoppy American IPA, dry Czech Pilsner, full-bodied English Stout or zesty Belgian-style Witbier), pop in the appropriate capsule and click a button.

Depending on the flavor, the optimized fermentation process takes about two weeks, giving you plenty of time to frost your favorite pint glass. During that waiting period, you can check the status of your batch any time or anywhere with the free companion app (compatible with both Android and IOS devices).

Best of all, as if brain-free brewing five liters (over a gallon) of expertly fermented, carbonated, ready-to-tap beer wasn’t enough, this innovative machine — which was also given a 2019 CES Innovation Award — automatically cleans itself with sterilizing hot water. Needless to say, though LG hasn’t released exact pricing or availability info yet, we’ll be first in line when they do.
