NYC-based brand 3×1 has teamed up with award-winning designer Joe Doucet to bring everyone’s favorite legwear staple into the 21st century. The resulting M3 jean is made in the USA from XX70 selvedge denim from Kurabo in Japan and features YKK buttons and studs. These are the kinds of details you’d normally expect from a high-end pair of jeans, but Doucet added so much more.
The pockets, for example, come lined in microfiber, meant solely to protect your smartphone’s screen and wiping it down each time you take it out of your pocket. Similarly, an RFID-blocking fabric was also used to protect the wearer’s information from electronic pickpocketing. Finally, an eight-inch strip of 3M reflecting tape was added to the back inside of the leg so that it can increase visibility when the jeans are cuffed for cycle commuting.
