Fluance recently announced the Ai40s — its first-ever powered bookshelf speakers. A pair of Ai40s costs $200 and, since they’re powered speakers, they don’t need to be hooked up to a separate stereo or AV receiver to work. You can connect them directly to your computer, TV or turntable. Or, with Bluetooth aptX support, you can stream music straight from your iPhone. As for specs, the 5-inch speakers have a built-in 70-watt class D amplifier that provides 35 watts of power per channel. All-in-all, it’s a pretty powerful and versatile setup for those looking for a simple sound system upgrade.
The speakers are available now, and come in three colorways: black ash, lucky bamboo and walnut.
