Now at Guitar Center, you can save over $100 on a range of classic Fender guitar amps. The Silverface ’68 Custom reissue line — a Princeton Reverb, a Deluxe Reverb, a Vibrolux Reverb and a Twin Reverb — is currently discounted. These classic tube amps recreate styles from a transitional year in Fender’s amp production: the tones were classic Fender — warm and bell-like — but they were also noticeably dirtier than amps produced in the mid-‘60s. The amps also presented a new aesthetic with a silver-and-turquoise front panel and an aluminum grille-cloth trim.

These ’68 Custom amps feature cabinets made from birch-maple plywood, Celestion speakers and all-tube circuitry with Groove Tubes preamp tubes and power tubes. Each model also includes custom-made Schumacher transformers, tube-driven spring reverb and a 2-button footswitch. Wattage ranges from 12 in the Princeton to 85 in the Twin Reverb, so there’s something for every player and situation. Rarely on sale, these amps have open-box discounts of up to $156 — hard to argue with that for brand-new gear.
