OtterBox is best known for crafting rugged cases that protect pricey smartphones from drops and spills, but the self-identified outdoor brand has positioned itself as a challenger to the likes of Yeti with its new and expanding line of rugged coolers. Now its mainstay hard cooler, the Venture, has one thing Yeti’s Tundra doesn’t: wheels.

OtterBox just released its All-Terrain Wheels, which are a set of two three-inch wide and ten-inch diameter attached to a reinforced axle and an expandable chassis that can accommodate both the 45- and 65-liter Venture coolers. The entire rig tows with a steel powder-coated handle that can be affixed to the cooler for two different styles of carrying.

Filling a gigantic cooler is easy — towing it to the beach or campsite is another matter though. The wide wheels allow the Venture to roll through sand, mud, dirt, gravel, grass and rock, which makes bringing a fully-loaded cooler further from the car less of a chore. And while other cooler systems that employ wheels keep them permanently fixed to the system (often encroaching on the interior storage space), the modular design of these wheels leaves the cooler with all of its inherent utility. The modular All-Terrain wheels are pricey, but they elevate OtterBox’s entry into the bomb-proof refrigeration category, making it more convenient and user-friendly than other comparable models.
