Mercedes-Benz’s 2019 C-Class sedan makes its world debut at the Geneva motor show next month, goes on sale here this fall and boasts more power and better mileage than the 2018 model.

Benz says the new sedan is the first of the C-Class lineup getting massaged. Down the road, we’re sure to see all the other variants such as the C350e plug-in hybrid, the various AMG versions, the coupe, the convertible and the C-based crossovers. Benz also says that, in addition to the new engine, the C gets some goodies from its larger, more expensive family members, the redesigned E-Class and S-Class.

The C300’s new 2.0-liter turbo-four is again mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, but horsepower is bumped to 255 hp. Torque remains 273 lb-ft.

Exterior styling changes include redesigned front and rear bumpers designed to make the car look more AMG-ish, plus standard LED headlamps and taillamps. The car gets Benz’s Intelligent Drive assistance features introduced on the E-Class (so the C can now drive semi-autonomously), plus a new steering wheel design with touch-control buttons. There’s also an optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster display, but not the side-by-side dual displays found in the E-Class and S-Class.

Other options include heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, panorama roof and head-up display.

Stay tuned: We’ll bring you live shots and more information from the car’s official reveal at the 2018 Geneva motor show.
