Bose’s New Noise-Canceling Headphones Are Already on Sale

You can already score a deal on Bose’s latest and greatest noise-canceling headphones, the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700. Bose and basically every other retailer is selling them for $400, but eBay is selling brand-new models for $30 off. The deal only applies to black models. On the Bose website, meanwhile, the Headphones 700 are now available in white (technically “soapstone”) for full price.

As a refresher, the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are the company’s newest flagship noise-canceling headphones, taking that crown from the QuietComfort 35 II. There are two big upgrades with the Headphones 700. First, the design. The Headphones 700 look drastically different from all previous Bose headphones and have way more modern features (like swipe gestures and USB-C charging). And second, they’re much better for calls. Bose engineered the heck out of the Headphones 700 and they deliver the best call clarity – by far – of any noise-canceling headphones.

The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are ideal for business professionals and frequent travelers, or really anybody who wants some of the best noise-canceling headphones they can buy. Of course, there are many good alternatives, like the Bose QuietComfort 35 II or the Sony WH-1000XM3, that are also slightly more affordable.

Save $90 on One of the Best Coffee Makers Ever Made

The cycle of self-obsolescence is well-documented and frustrating. Though the conversation is dominated by smartphone releases, the practice pervades pretty much everything you buy — even coffee makers.

The champions of the coffee making space — Bonavita, Breville, Bunn, Cuisinart and the rest — all, to some extent, practice it. Every now and again, what we know about coffee changes and the coffee maker changes with it, but serious shifts seldom occur.

For those who’d prefer to get a coffee maker that resists change, there’s Moccamaster — the first drip coffee maker to obtain the SCA’s badge of approval (which is incredibly difficult) and one of the fastest brewers in the world.

Of its many features, two stand out: a copper heating element and the ability to disassemble. Given the material’s natural heat conductivity, copper coils heat water more quickly than machines using steel or other methods (the only machine we’ve tested that brews faster is Breville’s Precision Brewer). The ability to take the whole thing apart is also unique, and it allows for troubleshooting and fixing at home rather than losing your source of coffee to the mail for a few weeks (it’s also great for cleaning the machine).

Today, Moccamaster’s CDGT model is $90 off on Drop. It’s the 10-cup model that uses a stainless steel carafe. This is as affordable as Moccamasters get.

A note on Drop:
Drop is not like other online retailers. It’s a members-only site that requires signing up (all it takes is an email address). If you’re not a member, you can sign up here. When you place an order from Drop at a discounted price, you’re not buying from them directly. The site works by taking orders from consumers, then bulk ordering product at a discount directly from brands and other wholesalers. For more information on how Drop works, click here.

3 Awesome Fixed-Blade Knives Are on Sale

The central aim of any fixed-blade knife is utility. Without a rotating joint, fixed blades are ultra-strong and capable of the most demanding cutting, chopping and prying tasks. That’s why these knives are often favored by hunters, survivalists, divers, emergency responders and armed forces. Fixed blades don’t have to be overtly tactical though; now more than ever, EDC knife makers are creating new silhouettes that prove there’s a place for a full-tang construction in daily life, too.

Tops Knives Mini Scandi 2.5

Tops’s Mini Scandi has a three-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade that’s easy to maintain. It comes with a Kydex sheath, a chain lanyard and an emergency whistle.

Fallkniven A1X

At 6.3 inches, Fallkniven’s A1X’s blade is probably too long to use to open Amazon boxes, but it’s fully capable of handling tough chores in the outdoors, like processing wood for a campfire.

Esee Gibson Pinch

The Pinch is proof that a fixed blade can make an excellent daily driver. It’s only 3.4 inches long — the Wharncliffe blade is 1.3 inches — and it weighs just one ounce. That means it’ll fit snugly in a pocket or desk drawer or around your neck with its included magnetic sheath.

The Internet’s Best Deal on Motorcycle Helmets Just Got Better

Five percent off may not seem like much of a bargain. It’s a nickel you don’t have to spend on a $1 purchase, or $1,250 off the price of a $25,000 car; it’s the sort of deal that you’re glad to eke out, but you’re not likely to feel as though you got away with something.

Add it on top of a larger bargain, however, and that 5% starts to feel way more important. Case in point: For a limited time, RevZilla is offering an extra 5% off all of its closeout deals — including the stellar motorcycle helmet deals it has on offer. If you don’t mind rocking previous seasons’ styles (or, in some cases, have a tiny head), you can get great helmets for as much as 65% off with this deal, knocking some expensive lids down to well below $500.

The trick? All you have to do is use the code 5OFFNOW at checkout. That’s it. Pop that in, and you just saved a few extra dollars on top of the rest of your savings.

Of course, the deal is also valid on everything else RevZilla has on clearance — amazing motorcycle jackets, solid boots, great gloves, even motorcycle parts, electronics and luggage. But helmets are one of the places where you can score the most notable deals at the site, so we’re highlighting them here. (Also, y’know, they’re kind of the most important piece of riding gear you should have.)

We’ve pulled a few of the best deals below, but head over to RevZilla to check out the full list of motorcycle helmet bargains for yourself.

Corsa R V46 Helmet by AGV $1,000 $450

Race Star Sector Helmet by Bell $750 $338

C4 Resonance Helmet by Schuberth (Small and Extra-Small only) $849 $357

Corsa R Espargaro 2016 Helmet by AGV $1,000 $450

E1 Adventure Helmet by Schuberth $749 $262

Pista GP R Carbon Winter Test 2018 Helmet by AGV $1,600 $816

All the Best Gear for Fall Hiking Is on Sale

Summer has its merits — late sunsets, beach time, camping without the rain fly — but fall is the best time of year for hiking. Not just because the leaves are turning hues Bob Ross would approve of, or because you can follow up a summit with a trip to the cider house either. The cooler temperatures make heading out into the hills a more pleasant (and slightly less sweaty) endeavor — as does the fact that nearly every online gear retailer is holding a massive sale that includes discounts on some of the best outdoor products available.

Patagonia Nine Trails 28L Pack

Patagonia’s Nine Trails backpack is simple, yet has every feature necessary for a full day in the mountains. One of our favorites: the sleeve-style exterior pocket, which is the ideal place for stuffing extra layers.

Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles

Our pick for the best trekking poles available, Black Diamond’s Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles are lightweight thanks to a carbon fiber construction. They also telescope to fit short and tall hikers alike.

Smartwool Hike Light Crew Sock

A solid pair of hiking socks can be the difference between a perfect day on the trail and a miserable blister disaster. Smartwool’s blend of merino wool, nylon and elastane helps prevent those foot issues and is also pleasantly cozy.

Danner Trail 2650 Hiking Shoe

New for 2019, Danner’s Trail 2650 is the perfect hiking shoe for shorter trails and fast-and-light walkers. It’s lightweight, durable and as comfortable as a sneaker.

Merrell Chameleon 7 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot

For a boot with full ankle support, Merrell’s Chameleon is a tried-and-true classic. This version is waterproof, making it ideal for soggy autumn trail conditions.

Patagonia Micro Puff Hooded Jacket

Patagonia’s Micro Puff has been our pick for the best synthetic insulated jacket for two years and counting. Thanks to the company’s proprietary PlumaFill insulation, this jacket is lighter and packs smaller than other similar coats but is warmer, too. It’s the perfect layer to stash in your hiking pack for the winds at the summit.

HydraPak Shape-Shift 2L Hydration Reservoir

Most backpacks these days come with a pocket or sleeve for a hydration reservoir, but not the actual bladder. HydraPak makes some of our favorites, and this one has a handy feature that lets you adjust its volume depending on how much water you want to bring.

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

As the days get shorter, it’s always a good idea to have a headlamp in your backpack. The Spot is another Gear Patrol favorite — it’s waterproof, has adjustable brightnesses and is incredibly affordable.
